Anybody out there a little more extreme with the sub install?

I can't seem to find anybody who has done anything more extreme with their Titan than putting a box under their back seat. This is fine for the normal run of the mill system, but I am looking to do something at least a bit more extreme than that. Anybody with a blow through, or a rear seat delete, or something other than a Tech12volt box? (have nothing against tech12volt, boxes look awesome....i just want more)

This won't apply to just Nissans, once you get past cookie cutter you really need to do your own research. Not 1 box/person will be the same for these custom jobs and the cost sky rockets. Are you a good woodworker? That'll help. Study car audio sites...etc so you can learn the specs needed and what not. Only once did I have an "extreme" system in a pickup truck and it was more problems then it was worth...

1. Small chips in windshields quickly cracked from pressure.
2. My rear suspension broke. (was the old school small nissans, which were popular "mini" trucks)
3. Had to upgrade alternator, battery and install a big *** capacitor - otherwise lights basically went out with a heavy bass hit. People would think I was flashing them otherwise cause they would at least dim. All those upgrades helped. (still, probably around 600 dollars just in those three, in the 90s - cost more now)
4. System sounded better with windows cracked, way too much sub (3 12s) for the small cab space of a pickup. My bad.
5. Truck was broken into 3 times. 2 times minor damage due to long *** screws used...etc and the alarm I guess helped. 3rd time the mother f'ing thieves ripped every wire and destroyed them. Although nothing was stolen, the system was wortheless since nearly every wire would've needed replaced.
6. Due to 5, paranoia was high so a lot of times I would not even listen to it anywhere near the level it was built for and would've been better off with a little system.

After the 3rd time though, I pulled it all and have never done anything similar again.

Anyway, be ready for some hassles and do a lot of studying/reading/learning. I was enlisted at the time and paid people to do all my work (no shop) and it was still stressful with design and all that. Good luck though.

Oh, sometimes you're better off just working with a local shop you trust. Hell, even franchises like car toys can have talented people on staff - they'll just charge waaaay too much and you'll never benefit from a relationship there. I found smaller shops, with high end locals in it give and take and appreciate your business more.

i removed my single seat in the rear and did a mini wall with 2 15s in it

I did a fiberglass mold of the floor and fit 3 12" Boston Acoustic subs under the seat. I had to raise it 11/2"
If I didnt need the bed and the truck was older, I would do a cut threw. cut threws rock but kill the value of the truck.
In the for sale forums, the black titan on 40's with 22" diesels has the back seat out with a full fiberglass enclosure and custom door panels. looks really good and is plenty loud. I listened to it when it was first done.

Thanks for the pics....Im just trying to get some "outside the box" ideas on what to do for my truck. I am the co-owner of Incriminator Audio (if anybody here knows us) so I am well versed so to speak when it comes to subwoofers and stereo systems. I would like to do a pair of ported 12's with around 4000 watts RMS in the Titan, but without losing the ability for 2 extra people to ride "comfortably" in the back. This is not going to be a show truck or demo vehicle, just a personal enjoyment/occasional showoff ride.

Sweet, now you have me interested. Hard to tell if one is just a 17 y/o spouting off or not.

Were you wanting to keep the bed usable for hauling? I always thought trucks that had something in the bed, ported to the cab were neat. I just never could do it since I need the bed.

Anyway, something tells me you're more qualified then 95% of us here. I'm a one time floozy with a decent sized system and otherwise a lot of people here are similar or aiming for a more simple system so there trucks maintain 100% usability.

Yalls website is better then most....

I do want to keep the bed, but ONLY because of the rear power window. If that wasn't there, I wouldn't have even posted the question, as I would have did a blowthrough. I don't have to have 100% usability of the truck, but I would like to keep it somewhat normal, as we do travel to a few shows a year pulling our trailer with the booth in it. At this point, I am really digging the idea of 2 separate seats in the back, and doing a console install between them.

Oh, and that is Kendra Rice (our model) in the pic sitting on our 21" Warden neo magnet SPL subwoofer........yes I do know her...lol

lol, I think we know who she is in general.

I did not have the balls to post her OTHER pics and get banned or something. Just nice to have some eye candy when going to a car audio site - as opposed to the usual crap.

Yeah one big console would be the way. Greg at REAUDIO did his Titan like that if I am not mistaken. Place a small seat on each side.I would never cut another truck I own . EVER!!!! To me you have to draw a line and once you cross that line its all or nothing.

I love how Car Audio show cars have went from stealth to how many LCD monitors you can fit. Also the doorpanels with 10 mids and tweeters reminds of the Rockford Blastrovans of the early 90s. HAHA I feel ya man. I turn 32 today and have been doing car audio since all the cool stuff was built out of wood.
I have to agree about the door panels, with the way speakers are made today you don't need 10 mids and highs in each door. I run Boston Pros in my truck and just filled the factory locations. Sounds very good.

The center console box sounds like the set up you would want. You will have room for 2 in the back and tons of stuff in the bed.

I feel the same way about that blow-through. If I didnt have the powered rear window (which I love) Id be considering a blow-through. If you only want 2 people in the back then do some bucket seats back there and do a simple glass and wood center console. Personally I dont like ANY painted panels in a car. I seem to like the soft touch, dull with no shine interior of our trucks. Maybe Id do some tweed inserts on the doors and incorporate the same tweed into the box so it runs well. Tweed, ya I'm old school too. I think I'll be doing a center console as well but Im going to do a single 12. Only because I have kids and want to incorporate a insulated and drain-able fridge into it.

Thats funny as hell I turn 37 tomorrow. Yeah the Boston Pros are pretty sweet. I have done a couple of Titans with them and one with a pair of SPZ's. You are actually not that far from me. Me and my wife owned a car audio and Tint shop in Atlanta for years. It just got to be to much. Tint customers can be a pain.
