Looking to install Amp

Let me just start by saying this, car audio really confuses the crap out of me.

Here is what I have:

Kenwood Excelon Receiver with front and rear amp pre-outs
Infinity 2-ohm tweeters in the dash
Infinity 2 -ohm 6x9's in the front door
Infinity 2 - ohm 6 1/2" 2 ways in the rear door.

My issue: I am thinking about installing an amp to get just a little bit better sound from the speakers, however, I am somewhat a novice at this.

Would there be a good sub $100 amp to do this? I am not an audiophile, and the music would not be cranked all of the time.

Next, could I wire a 4 channel amp into this set up somehow? Run the 6x9's and the tweeters in parallel or in series off of the front channel, and the 6 1/2's off of the rear channel? Would that fry a cheaper amp?

I was considering getting some components but I am on a budget and do not want to really lay down the cash now.

Just looking for suggestions, sorry if I sound like such a noob.

Thanks,

Zack

Re: Looking to install Amp

I am doing the same thing... All new door speakers and head unit. I am going to use a ALPINE MRP-F300 4 CHANNEL AMPLIFIER to run my door speakers. You just need to make sure your After market Head unit has Pre Amp outlets. IF it does you just connect the amp to it. If not you will ne to buy a LOC to connect the 2. They have that Amp for sale on ebay for 138$ with free shipping.

Re: Looking to install Amp

you can run a 4 channel to the mids and highs. putting the front 2 together wont hurt anything. when using small speakers it doesn't make the ohm load drop like subs do. you will be fine.
Aamp makes a speed cable. It has all 4 speaker wires and a amp turn on ran inside. It is very nice indeed. This is what you will need if you run an amp on your mids and highs. Just cut the wires from the radio and wire em into these wires and run them back to the amp. radio doesnt push them any more but the amp does....hope that answers your ?s

Re: Looking to install Amp

It does help answer some of the questions, thanks.

I actually installed the amp over the past several days and it sounds great. I ran new speaker wire to my infinity 6x9's and 6.5' speakers and hooked them up to the amp. I left my infinity tweeters in the dash hooked up to the head unit. It sounds pretty good, but now my door speakers over power my weak 100 watt bazooka bass tube. So, my next step will be to install some subs under the rear seat, and an amp to run those.
