Impressed but not so much..Audio help

I just got my teo tens put in my truck with my mono block amp everything sounds amazing Kicker cvx is the way to go. Anyway the shop did not have a whole lot of time for the instalation of my deck because I was in a hurry to go to work. I have a double din eclipse deck with the built in nav. They were concerned because there is a cross bar behind the deck that they did not know if they should cut out so now instead of a flush mount it is shimmed out a bit. Does anyone know if I can cut this bar out, or is it ctitical for support? All in all the system looks sharp and hits like crazy but I would like to fix this if I can.

No reason for it to stick out. I have a Kenwood DDX814 unit and my bar isn't cut out. Sits flush. What face plate are you using?
