Just putting in an Infinity 10" in mine has made a big difference. Sure the mids and highs are marginal at best, but at least there is some decent thump now at all volume settings. I might eventually upgrade all the speakers, but this is holding me over for now.
I was thinking of doing that but didn't know if it would sound better. So just to clarify, you simply pulled the sub from the enclosure and dropped an Infinity in its place?

Anything you want. Crutchfield does not have a single employee that knows squat about car audio.

I actually really like the stock Rockford system. It does sound like crap for anything I listen to on FM but for CD's, ipod or satellite it sounds awesome.

Hey guys, this may be a silly question, but... the driver's side dash speaker on my RF system is cracking, not physically, but the sound. It is only noticeable at low volumes but annoying non the less. I have had the truck since 04 and have not had any problems with the sound system until now. Would this be covered under the warranty? Thanks guys.

It all depends on the dealer. I am sure someone on this forum wouldn't mind sending you a speaker for free though...

Thanks P-Dizzle. I am taking the truck into the dealer this weekend anyways for some other work, so I'll see what they can do. If they poop out on me I'll definitely ask some fellas on here. Thanks!

Re: About the Rockford Fosgate Upgrade. Did you Know...

Thread from the dead! Something rather interesting I found, though, came up on the RF site after this thread ran out of steam...

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/forum...TOPIC_ID=21457

Talks about the lack of anything "Rockford Fosgate" in the RF system and, basically, RF dances around the issue then locks the thread. Completely ignores the comment that the amp isn't an RF amp. Sad.

Seems like a comment to me... May or may not be accurate/true. Having seen this, now I understand the various negative comments made of the RF System. Just don't know which to trust...

They certainly could have provided a more detailed reason for the confusion they are obviousley knowledgeable of. A missed opportunity to save themselves.

I'll just stick to my midrange system, it works OK for me.

The stock rockford system is terrible. You could easily build a better setup for under $500. What does Nissan charge?

Didn't you or Tech12 do a write up on a system upgrade for the RF too?

and by upgrade i mean replacement! i'm waiting for the rf speakers in my 04 to blow.. if they do i'll have to replace them.. and by replace i mean upgrade

cant' wait to put my tech12 sub in and ditch the rf crap for good. all it does is tickle my ***.

That's an interesting claim when you can clearly see the Clarion name on it just by looking at it in the truck. Does RF own/make Clarion?

Re: About the Rockford Fosgate Upgrade. Did you Know...

Good, I'm not crazy. I just bought a used Titan with the RF upgrade, and it DOES sound like crap. I have the bass turned to -2 so the front door mids don't distort. Blegh.
