the mazda rx-8 owners had similar complaints with the Bose premium system.
i should have taken the dealer's advice that i could get a better radio system for the $1300. stupid me.
IMO: the system works for me. it's not as good as the system in my rx-7, which is powered and bassed using RF equipment, but it's not bad. i'd be content so long as 1) the stereo worked consistently 2) i could adjust the bass going to teh sub separately.
if nissan replaces my stereo to fix the radio fade, i'll be happy for a long while.
also, i only count 8 speakers in my king cab. do the crew cabs get the two extra speakers? i heard there are two in the rear doors. i count only one in my suicide doors.
I sent me e-mail to 'rftech@rockfordfosgate.com'. If we all start sending e-mails to them and Nissan, they will have to do something about it as they will hopefully not want the bad press.
I honestly think they just don't really give a crap. Everyone who has written RF has received the same canned responses, and Nissan isn't exactly doing too much to squash the CRAP name......

I agree with the poor quality Fosgate system, but it was in the truck and got 10k off MSRP. I have aquestion regarding upgrade of amps. I have two alpine V12 amps with JL 10's and Alpine DDDrive seperates to put in the truck. Does the Fosgate system have high or low level connections for amp instalation. I saw BigPete used factory deck. How is the sound quality for those who have kept the factory deck? Any help mwould be great.

I am still waiting on amps & speakers that I ordered. I have a Scosche NN03RB Nissan car stereo connector and a Navone Engineering NE-774V 4-channel hi-quality LOC that I am hoping to use to connect to the RF head unit.
Hey Guy, I have read all the threads on line of thought. Need all of your "practical" advice. Just bought Titen CC LE, with all options, specifically to this thread, NAV, Upgrade stereo, DVD. I have a new child so my money is not endless. I my garage, I have 3 amps (2 Nakamichi,,1 Sony ES). I forgot the size, but it came out of my integra where I had (and have a Sony ES Head Unit, Sony Digital Pre Amp, the 2 Naks to four sony ES speakers, the Sony ES AMP to A box JL Audio Enclosed SUB. I was going to Sell it all on ebay, but am now thinking I can but it in the truck. (Thanks for reading all that) Here is my Question, "How much of it can I use?" My goal is to still use the DVD. All practical advise is appreciated. I used to by an audiophile in the 80's, now I am a working dad.

I hate to say it to you guys, but Clarion is wholly owned by Rockford Fosgate. Making it's products basically R/F products. The Rockford Foster deal was more than likely an error of some sort when they were stamping logos on the speakers.
I feel for you guys that dropped $1,000's on the upgraded system. However this is nothing new, car manufacturers have been doing this for years. What you get with the upgrade package is just more noise, not more quality. That's why the aftermarket stereo business is doing so well, is people like you that get burned and never get upgraded factory components again.
Or those of us with LE's who were forced into getting the RF package, which we all know is worked into the overall price of the LE. Wouldn't it be nice if it were like the old days where radios were an option like everything else? I don't think I've seen any new vehicles without at least some type of factory system, even the bottom of the line government cars I drive have radios.
I was mainly referring to the people that upgraded their stock systems to the R/F package. Or in you case, if you decided to get the DVD movie package or whatever you would probably be alot better off going to your local stereo shop and spend the $2,000 that that package costs than get shafted by Nissan.
The RF comes with the LE standard. It doesn't list the RF as an option on the LE because all LE's come with the RF. Select an LE and then click on the Interior Features/Specs

Wow, I didn't know RF owns Clarion. I think RF owns some other car audio equipment trademarks also, like Lightning Audio.

Can I asked where you got that information? I've never heard about Rockford Aquiring/owning Clarion. If you go to the corporate site you will see that Clarion is not one of the 9 brands under the Rockford umbrella. Sorry, but I think you're wrong on this. If you can show me otherwise I would be interested to know!
