Re: Ordered a custom box from Tech12Volt...

Congrats to the winner I am sure you will be very happy with your new box.

Do you have a titan available to get measurements and such off of? I am thinking about trying to fit either 1 of the eD SQ10 shallow mount subs or 2 eu-700 subs under each front seat. I know there would be room enough based on previous threads to have the SQ10 and the eu-700's fit with some careful box design and building and I am truthfully too busy and suck at woodworking to tackle it
myself.

Re: Ordered a custom box from Tech12Volt...

Thanks for all your comments. I just received the box today... and I am stoked! The box is very solid and the logo is great. Fits perfectly too... just need to mount the subs. I have purchased boxes in the past before and I will say that the quality and craftsmanship of this box is by far more superior than any of them. Though, to my surprise, the bottom was not carpeted. Not a big deal but wondering if all the other boxes were built the same way with no carpet on the bottoms. Thanks again Tech12Volt!!!

i do not carpet the complete bottom . the carpet is wrapped so its not seen. this is very typical with any custom enclosure that i build. the carpet i use is not cheap and i makes sure all the parts that are seen are carpeted and very few seams.i hope this is not a problem.i have never had anyone comment about it. please let me know if you can see any wood once you get it installed. i am really glad you like it. please let me know how it sounds. that logo was a pain the butt.

Tech12volt, its definetly not a problem and believe you me... I'm just as picky, and let me tell you, there is absolutely no flaw in the box. It's GREAT!!! The comment I made was just that... a simple comment. There was no negative remark meant from it... I apologize for the misunderstanding. And the carpet, IMO matches perfectly and there is no exposed wood. Great material. About the logo, it turned out GREAT!!! It looks real nice... great job!!!

I'll have pics up as soon as the install is complete... now I'm having to deal w/ the next problem... needing a LOC in order to maintain my Fosgate OEM stereo. Tech12volt, what's your suggestion?

Any hopes of doing a box under the driver's front seat? I am looking at getting 2 eu-700's in one box. In another thread, someone asked the manufacturer if one SQ10 or 2 700's would be better for this space and they said the 2 700's. BTW, Is it better to up fire or down fire the woofer under the front seat? I know Tech12Volt said to have them facing up but would it change for being in the front of the truck? I actually own an Amarda.

Thanks,
Tom

i have not worked with this subs that much . i have done 2 pair in a colorado. and i must say i was not that impressed. they were under the back seat we fired them up. But it all depends on what you are using them for.. i would use them to pull the bass up front and use a bigger sub in the rear .i am a huge fan of bass of front. almost every vehicle i have owned in the last ten years i have mounted subs up front in. but i usually use some focals i have or my very old ads subs.i have also used some dyna audio 7 inch and crossed them over very low with a bandpass crossover. but i assume you are going to use these for primary subs.i just have not played with this subs enough in that application to feel comfortable enough to build you an enclosure and ship across country and hope it sounds good. i do not like taking chances or guessing with my customers. i would hate for you to get it . be all excited and then find out it sounds like crap.

Re: Ordered a custom box from Tech12Volt...

Cool, thanks for being honest. I was just going to use it to replace the factory sub that is already there. Which would be any improvement. I just hate taking up space and moving the box in and out of the back. But it is my choice so I will have to live with whatever I can put underneath the front seat whether it be good or bad bass. If I come up with a drawing with the most space, maybe I can get you to build it without me complaining about sound quality....
Unfortunately I tend to over analyze things so this might take some time for me to choose the best box.
