How to Tell if HU is compatable with Steering wheel controlls?

Is any HU compatable or just some of them?

Im looking at buying a Eclipse ANV2454 and I have no idea how to figure out if there is some way to integrate the steering wheel controlls?

Thanks!

That is a nice deck...IF you can get it cheap buy it....This switch will work. The
buttons on steering wheel work like a remote control....The Pacs has an eye you located in front of HU..you can even program your steering wheel control for different functions. I was the same way when I got my HU...I can not live without steering wheel controls....They have the direction of how to install it on the there website.....very easy!

sweet, yea the deal looks good but I htink I will have to purchase a navigation CD since it is an import, however, I jsut hope the wiring harness will work or that I can come up with some way to wire it...

I jsut wasent sure if it would work with eclipse, I went to the website but it said "most other brand" so I wanted to make sure.

I installed my Kenwood 7015, nav 4100, over head rear dvd, backup camera without ever doing a radio install before! I did alot of research from forum members before everything got to my door....I knew where every wire was and how I was going run wires. I bought a wiring harness which made things easy.....If you need help with wires and stuff I can help. Order the wiring harness...only like $7.00.

yea your actualy really close! Also eclipse has a 310 area code which means they are in Long Beach where I live Crazy!. I was trying to get it for about $600 ut it looks like it fell through. Damn!

Well I'm pretty set on eclipse probably just go for the CD8445, the one jsut under the 8455, it has Nav as an added option but it's not the same as the LCD decks...Still sounds pretty sweet though. Last years model is pretty cheap too but only 5v pre-out I think

$600 is a deal for a dvd nav unit. too bad you couldn't get it for that price.

5v is ok. you can always add a line driver.

Check out the new pioneer nav unit also. It has gps, touch screen, etc for a lot less than the eclipse. Of course you don't get the eclipse quality and have 2V pre-outs. What is the pre-out voltage on the eclipse nav units?
