Power To Sub

I have a 2005 titan crew cab with the RF upgraded system. Was wondering how many watts are going( dedicated) to the sub and if i could replace the sub and enclosure for better sound without another amp. Also does any one have the wiring diagram for the rf system?

might be possible, but most likely not worth it. If your going to spend money to attemp the upgrade do it right the first time.

True, should spend the money but is hard to tear up a new truck after only 3 weeks. I am 1 of the few who like the sound of the rf system, not the best but it plays pantera nicely, the sub is all that is weak in my opinion.

What you've got is about as good as it will get with the little pretend amplifier that comes with the RF system. If I'm not mistaken the sub is 2ohm as well so anything you'd replace it with would need to be the same.

there is probably slightly better but not for cheap, might as well replace everything. i thoguht the speakers sounded ok, but now I htink the stock speakers sound like compleat turds. I came down form a pretty decent system.

I know what you mean though I only had my truck for 9 weeks, I still don't want to tear it down, but on the other hand the sooner the better! It takes a while to plan a real system so by the time I get around to installing the last part it will be due anyways.

At first I just wanted to add subs, not I realize it only makes sense to re-do the entire system! I'm really looking forward to Matting the whole vehicle, it will stops the rattles that have developed at around 4000 miles and also make the speakers sound WAY better.

Honestly the way the system is designed it is not really upgradable, it just needs to be replaced altogether. I'm just glad I did not get navigation now! Since you can get Way better nav for the same price, and it will integrate with the entire sterio system unlike the stock stuff.

I tink it is the same only there is a brace on the passengers across the back, not sure why the passengers seat needs a brace and the drivers doe snot lol.

Put the subs under the rear seats! It's hard enough to find a decent woofer with 5.75 inches of mount depth. I think if you make a custom box and face the sub towards the front you get more room though.

You can download the service manual for $20. Section AV has the stereo wiring diagrams.

For $20 you sign up for access for 24 hours. Service manuals are available in PDF format. You can view as many pages as you like in that 24 hours. Obviously you would also save those pages that were important to you for future reference.

You can use the RF sub speaker output with any after market sub amp that has a high-level input with good results. I did this on the Bose in my Altima.
