Need Help planning my system

My system is still in the planning phase, although some things are certain. I will be building a sub box underneath the drivers seat that houses one 10" Earthquake SWS. The amp (a memphis 5ch) will be mounted behind the rear seats (CC) on the wall. The head unit will be a panasonic cq-vd7500u, because of its features/price/sound are about right. The brainbox for this unit will be underneath the passengers seat. There will also be a power inverter and xbox mounted on the back wall.

What I have yet to deciede on is the speakers. I am not sure what I should do for speakers, I like the alpine type X. (i have lots of experience with boston, infinity, and alpine) But I dont know where to put the tweeters (dash or door? next to drivers or up higher?) And I have no idea what to put in the rear door.

The memphis amp is 75x4 + 300x1.

Also I will be using a pac swi-x and I was wondering if the rear controls would work? Are they wired with the steering wheel controls?

Will I need a cap or alumapro?

Any suggestions?

My budget is pretty tight I figure I have ~500 for speakers.

I will be using probably 1 coat of edead throughout everything.

Am I missing anything?

KC or CC? Will a type X fit? Are you going to make your own box? Pretty much all the available boxes to fit under the rear seat are 5.75 inch Max mount depth (plus you need room for the VC on the sub to vent)

If you get an 04 CC you will have room to mount the amp and Xbox. However if you get an 05 CC there is not enough room to properly mount an anything behind the rear seats (due to rear power window).

I don't have any experience with the Alpine Type-x speakers but I have owned some of there speakers and have been pleased with them. Plus, they will be happy with the 75 watts that you will be feeding to them.

I just bought and am in the process of installing Polk dBs and will let you know how they are. I am expecting them to sound nice in the truck. I paid $300 for two pair from Crutchfield.

Check out my thread for some pics of the 05 rear wall and you will see about the lack of room. Of course I am assuming that you don't have the truck yet hence the "planning stages".

My Installation.... in one week! I hope...

I will be getting an 04, CC or KC, depending on what I find (looking for an LE for 24k and not a penny more, plenty in the 26k range but havent dropped to 24k yet)

The SUB will be a SWS10 (shallow mount 10") and will fit just fine under the drivers seat in a custom encloser someone here on titantalk has put plans up for.

The type X components will fit in the doors I believe (2.8in mounting depth) I am thinking the type X for the front, but am unsure of what I should do in the rears (2way, 3way, midrange, component?)

Keep the suggestions coming.

Does anyone know what gauge wire I should run, I was thinking 2gauge then splitting it to 2 4gauges for the amp and inverter.

the guy had some problem with the box under the seat because the voice coil did not have anoughroom for the speaker to vent. I'm not sure if he ever solved the problem or just moved the speaker someplace else, I don't know the mount depth of the one your talkng about though so it may be fine.

If your going to run 2 ga might as well jsut run 0/1, your going to have to drill a hole in the firewall anyways.

I'm not going to replace my rears untill after I see how it sounds with some good component fronts.

Good luck finding an LE for 24k.

For the rear I would do components also if you must have them. if you get the CC there is a palce for the tweeter already, if you get the KC you will have to make a place for one.

I ran 12 gauge through the doors (overkill), but 16 gauge would be enough for 75 watts.

Component mounting depth won't be an issue because you will have to custom fab speaker mounting plates and they can get really thick without hitting the door panel. I am using 3/4" in all 4 doors.

Even mounting a shallow mount sub under the seat, it will be difficult to get enough box volume and have the sub not sound boomy.

2 gauge should be more than sufficient.

All my local dealers have the LEs at 26k right now, but won't budge below that line

The SWS sub has a mounting depth of 2 11/16", and requires .31 cubic feet. The box I am planning on has a interior 4" depth, and .42 cf volume before sub displacement.

I understand the box will sound boomy, but i dont have any other choice, I need to fold the seats up. Thats actually one of the main reasons I am buying a titan.

I thought it was best to put the tweeter as close to the driver as possible, otherwise timing is off. My last car (I miss you baby )
I did that and it sounded so much better than placing the tweets closer to my ears.

What are everyone heres thoughts

So nobody has any suggestions for tweeter placement, type of rear speakers, or brand of speakers?

If you are getting the Alpine Type-X's get the same for the rear if you can. Or get one of the lower priced models like the Type-R or Type-S....should be perfect for cheaper rear fill.

I am putting my tweeters in the factory places to maintain the "stealth" install.
