Roady2 Mounting/Location

Hey Peeps,

I picked up the XM Roady2 a few weeks back and I lOVE IT!!

I have it playing through the AUX input on my RF 6-disc system.

I don't necessarily care for the sound of the speakers, but the quality of sound from the AUX input is more than acceptable. (Way better than through FM).

QUESTION: How have others with the Roady mounted it? Currently, I just have it stuck with the factory clip, to a center vent, on driver's side.

I've got the wires showing everywhere and I really don't like that. I'm looking for a cleaner look and better location for it.

Any ideas or suggestions...

THANKS!!

I mounted my XM Commander in the head console, first compartment and it gets no cleaner. Does block rear view mirror when open though. See pics.

I just finished installing the Starmate. I don't really like the location but it makes viewing the screen easy.

Thanks guy,

This gives me some good ideas. Although I'm too chicken-poo to cut anything, I defintely think I can do better than what I got know.

SlimP-

How is your unit held there? Also, I thought about that side, but I'd have quite a reach to control the thing-I'm thinking about picking up the remote for it?

ruauman2-

I'm assuiming you made a cut under the mat there and ran the wires down behind the bezel. How do you get your unit to sit up there?

Thanks again...

I used heavy-duty velcro to mount it. The heavy-duty adhesive holds better if your vehicle gets very hot inside while parked. It should stay in place. I had to make a 0.5" hole which is not under the mat. It is just above the mat, you'll notice a lip about 1" tall on the front edge. I played with it for awhile and moved it around to various places. When it is down low I had trouble reading it while driving and the glare on the screen was worse. I didn't want to make a hole either but I wanted it to be easily viewed while driving.
