I am finishing my stereo overhaul right now, I spent more than most probably would but there is alot of stuff you can skim off.

1 pair of alpine type x components (front speakers) $225
1 pair of alpine type R coax 6.5 (rear KC speakers) $90
1 Earthquake SWS 10" sub (shallow mount for under seat) $135
1 USAmps 5600x (5 channel amp for all speakers and sub) $400
1 Kenwood kvt-915dvd (flip out dvd player) $1250
about $150 in wires and harnesses.

if you didnt want to replace the HU I would replace just the amp and speakers.

Also I want to know about your bumper guard too.

Fill the plastic sub box under the driver's seat with polyfill from Wal-Mart: $2.00.

If you have OEM NAV or DVD, the loss of integration when replacing the OEM RF head unit should be considered. You can buy an XE double-din bezel and use a double-din head unit. Steering wheel control integration can be retained with a PAC switch unit.

The OEM RF amp is inadequate to power most decent aftermarket speakers. The OEM speakers are 2 ohm.
