Need help...ordering new speakers

I have the RF package and want to basically replace all but the HU (I am trying to retain the stock look and the steering wheel controls). I would like to order the door speakers off ebay since they are much cheaper than buying from a local store. I believe the front are 6X9" and the back 6 1/2" but would like clarification. I am also going to go with a single 10" or 12" under the back seat (I have a CC) and one amp running the whole setup. A couple questions for those of you who done this already.

1) What size speakers do I need for the doors?
2) Will I lose the dash mounted speakers if I circumvent the stock amp?
3) What amp would you recommend for powering everything?
4) Will I be able to get good sound and keeping the Stock HU?
5) Is there any special mounting hardware I will need for the door speakers or will the swap right out?

Front are 6x9, and rear ar 6.5. But I'd recommend ditching the 6x9 and going with a 6.5" for better sound and more choices.

Well depends on how you wire things up. If you leave the stock amp connected to the HU you can maintain it. I'm not sure it's worth it, as it doesn't produce the best SQ.

I don't know where to begin....

4) Will I be able to get good sound and keeping the Stock HU?

I never ran anything aftermarket but a sub on the oem HU, so I can't really answer that. The main problem you'll face is low output voltage. You'll probably want some type of line driver.

5) Is there any special mounting hardware I will need for the door speakers or will the swap right out?

You'll need to make some mounts. I used 3/4" MDF. Check my gallery for picts.

Ok so I went to a local store to see how bad they would rape me. They suggested...

Boston Acoustics FX92
Boston Acoustics FX6H
Kenwood KAC6402 4 channel amp

and re use the punch 201s amp and Sony Xplod 12" sub I have already in a new box

All installed he wanted $810 out the door.

I found the BA's for about $90 each set ($180 total) and the amp for $145 on ebay. Not sure what his box costs but that leaves prolly $350-400 for the install.

What do you guys think about these selections? Any others you'd recommend?

You have to either make a bypass harness around the stock amp or pull new speaker wires. If you pull new wires, you can easily mount components with the tweeters in the stock locations, crossovers up under the dash. You would abandon the center dash speaker.

3) What amp would you recommend for powering everything?

Depends on the speakers & subs. If you are driving big subs that take lots of power, you could use a Class D amp for the subs and another 4 channel amp for the speakers. Class D are o.k. for low frequencies and have higher efficiency, thus making less of a load on your alternator.

4) Will I be able to get good sound and keeping the Stock HU?

Yes, but as Sammy said it has low signals so I am using an Audio Control Matrix to pre-amp front/rear/AUX jack

5) Is there any special mounting hardware I will need for the door speakers or will the swap right out?

They have 6x9 to 6x5 adapters that will fit on the front doors, but they wouldn't work with my speakers. I mjade MDF rings for front & rear doors.
