To flame or not to flame?

I'm wanting something I think. I have a friend who had ghost flames done a while ago and it looks super sweet. Now I have seen a lot of flame jobs and half look either super tacky or scream "hey look at me!". That, I don't want. I'm all about subtility on this. The attached photos are kinda what I'm thinking and even those are a little more vivid than what I want. The look I'm after is one where you have to really look and be in the right light to see them.

I want to put them on the front to middle of the hood, the front quarter panels and about halfway down the doors.

Since it's gonna cost about $1500 to do just the flames, I was actually thinking of going all the way and having the truck shot in black cherry and doing the flames too. I dunno, haven't made up my mind on that yet.

Thoughts, ideas, other pics, recommendations?

Those are called Ghost Flames and a friend of mine had them done on his Harley. Real nice, but it is all up to the individual as they are hard to see when driving.

I like them. In fact, I saw a "cameleon" flame that wouldn't be noticeacle (very subtle) if you are looking at it at 90 degree angle but would change colors as you change the angle of view.

Also from afar, it appears that there are no flames at all and the flames would just appear as the vehicle passes by.

At some point when I'm all modded out, I may consider this.

It's nice. I like them but honestly I'd rather put my money in some other toy for the truck. I just think of rock chips or scratches ruining the look.

If you have the $$$ go for it. I just hope that you will be able to keep your composure the first time some jackazz keys it, or runs a shopping cart into it, or another fellow motorist without mudflaps kicks up a big rock.......

I wish I was rich......

That's about the length I want them to go up onto the hood, I just want them ghosted. Did you get them down the side too? And if you don't mind telling, what did they charge for it?

I have had the amps for four years, capacitior for two years, by no means new. The stuff that I did just buy was paid using money that I made from ebaying some of the parts that I had from my Accord and I made $500 from buying/reselling a McIntosh amp that a local car audio dealer that had no idea what it was worth. I am buy no means even close to rich so back at you.

Anyway.....
