I'd save your money and get a decent HU before I got a jensen/audiovox, they aren't very good quality. Just IMHO.

18 watts RMS is about three times the RMS output of the stock HU.

Keep in mind the rear speakers are 2ohm which will make the HU (or any amp) connect to it work twice as hard. Rule of thumbs - most HU/amps power are rated for 4ohm.

Jensen = crap, my friend has one and it barley plays burned CD's it skips like crazy, and can't even read a few of the bran dnew CD's he has purchased. I highly doubt it is 18 watts TRUE RMS also.

Probably only comes to 18 watts RMS ona Jensen Meter lol. Hell my eclipse is only 13 watts RMS and produces 50 watts max... SOunds like the Jensen would be clipping quite frequently...theres ALWAYS deals on Jensen....

Your correct about the HU working 2x as hard, But I have to wonder what is better, Runthe stock speakers in series to make them 4 ohm and wire to one channel or just run them 2 ohm to 2 seperate channes? hmmm...

Who knows? Why do they bother putting junk in there in the first place? Why don't they give you the option to not have the factory stereo and get a $500 discount at time of purchase? Why do people spend the extra $1k-1.5k to have the Rockford Fosgate "Premium" sound system when they can have a far superior system for the same money? Life is full of questions ....

Jensen is junk. Power ratings are not standardized by the industry. EX. Pyramid had a 4000w eq that was about the size of a paperback. They rated it by the power spike it made when it exploded when you plugged it into a wall outlet.
Get something middle of the road. like a pioneer. This would be better than stock. Hope this helps.

BTW, they don't offer stereo delete anymore because the actual stereos they put in cost almost nothing to make so it is popcorn at the movies for them. This is why they also stuff them into the premium packages. EX. BOSE system on my Corvette was a $1500 option but the speakers cost $3 each to make. No more than $50 of equipment total in the whole setup cost wise to chevy.

Red face Sub box hook-up to factory.

I too own a XE and would like some bass in my CC, I was looking at a 10" w single channel amp to hookup to factory H/U, no not the Rocksford, but the other factory, just until I get an aftermarket. Any info from the audio gods and some instructions would BE much appreciated

that jensen is crap. dont buy that. buy a pioneer, clarion, or a lil less...panasonic or kenwood. but the best two are pioneer or clarion. i have a pioneer 7'' flip down dvd/cd/mp3/tunner/tv and its awesome. i have had it for about 1 year and 1/2 and its awesome...no problems. this is the second car i have this radio in. the titan looks hot with this baby installed.

Get a Alpine V12 mono amp (or similar) with high level inputs and an internal crossover and hook it up to the rear speakers. Then run an ignition-on wire back with your amp power from the dash somewhere for a turn-on signal.
