Bazooka Tube Install

Hey I hope someone here as the answer I seek . I just want to add a bazooka tube to my current 6 disk popular package stereo to increase the bass. The guy at circuit city said it required a $ 100 wiring kit to make it work. Does this sound right? How do you really install it with a factory stereo?

You can get away with buying all your wires for ~50 bucks.

I think you need some wires, yeah. My understanding is that a Bazooka Tube has an amplifier and a subwoofer. Assuming it has a decent amp, you would need power wires and a fuse to power the amp. One power wire would need to run to the battery positive terminal under the hood, so it would be fairly long and a fairly big diameter wire. Then you would need to get a signal from the head unit to the Bazooka. Assuming the Bazooka has RCA inputs, this might require a 2 channel LOC and some RCA cables. Depending on what is in the wiring kit, $100 might be reasonable. I would ask for an itemized list of exactly what comes with the wiring kit.

P.S. Some amps also need a remote turn on wire, which is not an expensive item. Some RCA cables include a remote turn on wire.

There are 2 types of bazooka tube, amplified and non amp. Non amp hook up like any sub box, to an amp. The amplified has a built in amp so it needs to be hook up like an amp with all neccessary wires. As for signal input, it will accept RCA (low level) or tap into factory speaker (high level input).

I would imagine the kit includes 8 gauge power/ground wires, remote wire, in-line fuse holder, wire terminals, and possibly RCA cables (which you won't use with a bazooka tube). You should be able to get all of this from KnuKonceptz.com for about $50. Check it out.....I think that there products are by far the best for the money.
