well its not a night vision cam so at night you cant see crap unless there is light.but it works for me because i'm putting one fog light hidden under the bumper so it will give me plenty of light.i need the fog light because pulling the boat out of the water in the marina at night it's dark so the fog light will work out perfect for both things

Quick question, where you have it install does the license plate light affect it at all when it's dark. I would thinkthere would be glare from that light.
Thanks

That monitor on your dash ,How is it mounted? Is it just a screen run off a seperate DVD player? Or built in. So when your cam is on do you have to switch to AUX? I really like your set up.I am looking for a dash mount option.I installed a 10.5 DVD flip down all in one in the back. I constantly hear " WHAT HAPPENED DADDY"? I need my own screen Thanks for any info..

yea thats just a monitor.the dvd is a little home one i put it under the dash passenger side.and power it with a converter hiden behind the dash also.the monitor has video 1 and video 2.back-up cam is in video 1 dvd in video 2.i always have it on vid.1 so when i put it on reverse the cam turnes on .when i want to watch a movie i switch to vid.2.the monitor is held in place by a screw in the center.i drilled a small hole on the dash and screwed it from the bottom up into the tv.

Re: Rear Cam Installed Today

I just bid on an infrared CCD 1/4" waterproof nightvision cam with built in infrared LEDs .... 0 Lux baby!!!

and with the CCD, IR combo... its crystal clear at night..

I saw that same camera you have now on ebay... that price is GOOOOOOOOOOOOD.

hopefully if no1 bids in 5 hours, ill have mine for 25, which is wayyyyy too good to be true so i hope no 1 is waiting to bid.

HOW DID YOU WIRE THE RCA CABLES TO THE SCREEN? WHERE ARE THEY RUN?

Re: Rear Cam Installed Today

I have the same camera, I mounted it above the hitch, it works great there. Pi3 spent the extra $20 and got the night vision one... He says it works great.
