I used thin pieces of lexan plastic I found at Walmart in the automotive section and then cut them with a dremel tool. They are flush. I have last years model of the Alpine X components. The plastic cost like 2.50 for four pieces of 2.75 x 2.75 in square. Works great.

Justintoxicated.

I have a set of the older Polk DB tweets. I just purchased a set of Peerless tweeters so I no longer have a use for the polks. I really like the way they sound, but they are not as good as the Peerless tweets. I will sell them cheap if you are intested. Email me at scottbonomo@yahoo.com if you are interested. (ps i have 2 flawless sales on this site if you want to check up on me)

Not to pick a festering wound here. I love the sound quality out of the wifes Yukon. They put the tweeters in the A-pillars, aimed center windshield. The imagery is perfect. You get the feeling of a center channel rather than a washing sound. I saw that someone already mentioned it, and thought a second opinion might get you to try it. I will be doing this with mine when they show. I will be using the MTX Thunder8000 series 6.5 again.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to buy a new set of components and use my current Kenwoods for rear fill most likely although they might not fill much with no amp!

I guess I got a good 5 years out of them or is it 6 so I think I should just move on. I have been copnvinced that I'm going to need some DLS Irridiums.

What size and material are those polk db tweets made of?

An option for those with clearance problems and the gril.
Mount them from underneath and use any type of solid fastener.
Worked like a champ with my MB Quarts

Well i decided to go with a set of these

http://www.infinitecaraudio.com/cgi-...ogno=IRIDIUM62

To replace my dual mags. Can't wait to get the amps run. These are supposed to be real efficient also like my dual mags.

Still interested in those polk tweeters though I think, if there is room to mount them in the rear of the KC. Someplace in the doors maybe? Witht he dual mags they would make a great rear fill run off the HU.
