Help Please....installing new head unit

Does anyone have a wiring diagram to the 6 disc in dash changer non rockford stereo? I just thought I was about to finish installing a new head unit and now I am not sure if the wiring harness matched up correctly. The new unit is not turning on and when looking at the wiring harness, the ground from the stereo does not have a wire coming out of the other side of the harness. Also I tried just ground to the body but still no power, so I think that my switched power wire is not working properly (which might explain the problems I was having with the stock stereo). Any suggestions....please??? Thanks everyone in advance.

I am using the Scosche Nissan 95 and up wiring harness that came with the stereo purchase. Would that make a difference?

If you don't have power on the power lead, maybe you need to check the fuse.

I grounded my HU to the frame on one of the rear bolts. The colors actualy matched my CD-Player 's harness but I read the documentation on the HU first. I used the Yellow and Red wires on my harness for power and the black for ground. I beleive thats all that is necessary to make the HU turn on.

This might be a dumb question, but did you plug in the antena? Some head units won't turn on without the antena plugged in.

Problem solved!! Thank goodness. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a cheap circuit tester (multi-meter) to test the wiring. Since I was not getting power, I checked both the constant power and power lead. Come to find out there was no poer in the constant power!! No wonder my stock stereo would work and cut off whenever.... there must have been a short in there somewhere. So the easiest thing to do was to run a new constant power wiring and then the new head unit worked fine. Next thing I had to tackle was the steering wheel control interface. I could not believe the directions did not tell me what each resistor looked like. I was happy to find that someone on here had posted a link to a resistor wizard website. Then all I have to do was input the colors on the resistor to know which two I needed. But if that was not enough, after I thought I finished and was programming the PAC-SWIX, half of the controls would not work, so it was back to tracing down the problem. Anyways, I finished the install last night and now I just need to figure out the best place to place the eye for the remote. I also need to run the aux input cable back to behind the driver's seat. I am going to keep the cable there so I can connect the laptop or IPOD through the head unit easily. Thanks again for all the help.
