Converting Eclipse CD input to auxilary imput for DVD?
I need a little help from the audio guru's out there. I have an older Eclipse CD 55430 (circa 2000) sitting on the shelf in my garage. It was a nice unit in its day and would like to put it in my crew cab rather than dish out mo' money on another headunit. I also want to eliminate the FM modulator I am currently using for my DVD player. The 55430 does not have an AUX input, but it does have CD changer input.
Here's my question:
Someone told me there is a device that will convert the CD changer input into an AUX input, allowing me to run the DVD audio through the Eclipse HU. Is this true?

Thanks for the link! That's exactly what I need. On the site you gave me, the vehicle applications don't show the Titan/Armada. Do you know if it works with the Titan for sure? I have the non-RF in-dash 6-disc changer. Thanks!

If you have the satellite option it would work. I've confirmed via email with PAC that it works with the Armada as it's the same HU as the QX56, and on the clubarmada forum someone has installed it successfully. Again if you have the ability to add satellite it would work. I bet if you do a search on this site this has already been done. You might also check out my "how-to" dvd wiring linked in my signature. If you don't have the factory DVD you may have the wiring and can use it as a input. Or if the prewired harness is missing and you're handy you can add the wires to the harness on the back of the HU.

I can't get a firm yes or no whether I have the SAT option or not. I DO NOT have a SAT button on my radio, but others have said with a satelite system connected pushing the RADIO button switches through FM, AM and SAT. Can you, or anyone, confirm this? The dealers know squat, the local radio shops have no idea, and I don't either. I'm getting frustrated...
Look to see if you have the n-bus that the satellite plugs into.
Actually read this thread, I think it has all the answers in it. Are we Sat Ready??

Eclpise just started supporting Satelite radio this year.
Eclipse also uses a different non-standard CD changer connection I think you would have to add an eclipse CD changer not another brand so I'm doubting that it would work.
is that thing in the ebay sale by the remote the remote sensor? If so thats pretty frickin sweet cause you could hide the PAC Swi-X anywhere you wanted and aim the LED directly at that sensor.
If thats not what it is what the hell is it?

Thanks everyone for the help. From what I read in llajumpvid's link (thanks!) it sounds like I have the ability to add the PAC AAI-NIS, but I need to check for the N-bus to be sure. And since the AAI-NIS has 2 aux inputs I can add a Sirius tuner also...sweet!

I was trying to figure out the same thing. It looks like a GPS antenna to me, and the auction does mention a NAV feature.
Just make sure that PAC will work with eclipse CD Changer input since the only CD changers that work with eclipse HU's are the ones Made by eclipse, the plug is not standard so I'm not sure how you plan to connect the PAC to a non standard plug.

he has the factory HU so this doesn't apply.

llajumpvid is correct. Rather than install the Eclipse HU, I'm going to stick to the factory unit and add PAC's AAI-NIS.
My goal is to eliminate the FM modulator from the DVD player, and anything else for that matter. Their are areas around my house that cause so much interference that I lose the DVD sound completely. In the future I'm going to add a nice double-din HU with DVD and all the goodies, but for now the AAI-NIS looks to be my best option.
