i've heard kickers are good for bass but not too hot for sound quality. but they definitely need only a small amount of space though.

I was running a single S10L7 (dual 4 ohm so a 2ohm load) in a vented box off of my 1 ohm stable amp, so I was not giving it enough power. The problem with this speaker is there is no way to make a box where you don't lose a portion of your back seat (this one has a 6 9/16" mounting depth). The sub itself was amazing. I could not believe the output from one 10. The downside is you lose part of your back seat. That being said, the L7 is more of an SPL sub, but in a large vented enclosure it can have excellent sound quality. You need to get in the 3 cube range and you lose some output, but it will still make your rearview mirror useless. The sub itself will work well in a 1ft3 sealed box, but you will get a boomy base. The second thing is that you need a ton of power to get this the Xmax out of this sub. I was running my Hifonics (375 x 1 @ 2ohm) amp but this was not enough power. I hooked it up to my brothers 4 runner (1000x1 @ 2ohm fosgate) and let me tell you, it was like a totally different sub. All I can say is these subs pound.

I opted to go to a pair of CompVR10's (dual 4ohms for a 1ohm load receiving 375 per sub) in a .96ft3 per side down fire box. I have been very happy with this set up, with the only downfall being that it is a bit too loud for me. I have the bass on my deck at -4 (-7 to +7) and i have to turn the bass down on my eq. Depending on what you are looking for, I have to say that I really like both subs, but the 10's made a lot more since in my application.

The L7 is for sale if you are still thinking about going that route (PM me if you are interested).

To be real honest with you, I don't think that you are going to like the L7 given the amp that you have. You really need a ton of power to get that thing moving. It will function and get loud with 300-700 watts, but you really need to get into the 1K range to take advatage of all it can do.

If you only have 600 watts, I would go with the L5 if you are stuck on the Solobaric. A 1000.1 would work great. you can pick one up on ebay for 250 all day long....
