Help! 5x7's in rear doors?

I set up an appt to get my already purchased speaker system w/amp installed in my King Cab and just realized the rear door speakers I have are 5x7's.

Can anyone tell me if these will work or not? I have a bad feeling i'm going to be buying new speakers tomorrow morning. Which I hate to do, these are JL Audio XR's which weren't cheap.

Thanks in advance!

Nah I have 5X7's for the rear door speakers.

What are the stock size rear door speakers? 6-1/2" or 6X9"?

The rear door speakers are round, but they use an off-beat 3-lobed plastic mounting bracket which can be replaced by making an MDF mounting plate (adapter, baffle, ring or whatever you want to call it)

you want to use 6.5's for the rear doors and an MDF adapter. The adapter is required anyways since you can't remove teh stock speakers form the stock adapter easily

Forgive me CT guys , I posted this over there but wanted to share my results:

Okay guys I just got back from the audio store after a high anxiety filled day. I always get like that when people I don't know are doing work on my car, especially when it involves tearing apart doors, the dash, and taking off the seats. :nervous:

After biting my nails all day long I am very impressed with the result, I spent twice as much as I planned but it was much needed and worth every bit.

I ended up with:

Headunit-
Stock everything and added a six channel line output converter which is a Audiocontrol LC6 which works much like a JL Audio Cleansweep but half the price and works as effective, though the cleansweep is a bit more customizable. The result, I was told, was the same minus a few controls. I was sold once I heard the difference, it sounded like a aftermarket high end head unit I was running.
Read more here: www.audiocontrol.com
I highly recommend this little module (or cleansweep) for anyone who wants to keep their factory headunit and throw in a new set of speakers and amps.

Fronts-
JL Audio XR650CSi's in the fronts (6-1/2" Components)
Soundstream Reference 500s Amp

Rears-
Diamond D361's in the rears (6" Coaxials)www.diamondaudio.com
Soundstream Reference 200 Amp

I popped in my tastey array of music of Tool, Gorillaz and Coldplay. Wow, just blown away by clarity and was very surprised by the deep bass response the Titans doors created (cheers to Nissan on that).

My 500s Soundstream amp is only turned up maybe a 1/4 turn on the gain because it's such a powerful amp which I might "choke" into a possible 10" single sub down the road. But for right now i'm a pretty happy camper. The installer was a great guy, did a outstanding job too, and he even bought my 5X7" Speakers I had left from my old car system! HAH!

MODS MODS GIMME MORE MODS! What's next, I need more!
