What is the direct fit speakers off the shelf that will fit in the front and the king cab doors?
I thought they might be 6x9'S? or something else?

The fronts are 6x9 and the rears are 6 1/2. Tweeters on dash. Most people have been doing a 6.5" comp set up front and putting the tweeter in stock location on the dash. There's not too many 6x9 separates out there, but if you look hard you might find some. I don't know for sure if a 6x9 would sound worse than a 6 1/2 or not....I'm guessing the 6.5" would sound better though.

That sucks that you can't just pop in new speakers. I had the same trouble in my 92 sentra, they used 6.5" plates and installed a 3x5 inch speaker in it. Clarion made this for Nissan. How stupid!
Well, does anybody have some pics of the stock speakers? with the doors off or maybe the stock speaker while they removed it?

Thanks, the fronts I can use 6x9, but modify to fit. The rears 6.5. OK, I have some Pioneer 1.5" domes I can place in that location.
Thanks a bunch for the info guys. what a help! I can find some deals now.

I have a set of MB Quart 3way 6x9's if you are interested. I bought them with the intention of installing them. but went the 6 1/2 route instead. PM if you are interested.
yea fronts are 6x9 but oval speakers blow for good sound. I would recomend components, plus most 6x9's come with the tweeter and I think the tweeters sound much better in the dash than if you located them so close to the floor. IMO if you don't care about Sq then why upgrade.
Also the stock speakers are 2 ohm so you can't just pop in new 6x9's unless you have an amp to power them properly. stock HU is about 6-8 watts RMS @ 2 ohm.

I bought a 4 channel amp to power the 4 speakers. The amp came with LOC's also for running the stock HU. so I should go with 6.5 in the fronts for mids and a little high end voice? OK then
I guess I will rewire in the speakers instead of using the stock wires. Easier. When I run the LOC's, how do I attach the wires to the HU? Do I cut the stock wiring at the HU harness and tie into that? I hate ruining the stock wire harness to the radio. I guess this is the only way.

There is no off the shelf that will fit. Our speakers have a built on adapter that I do not think can be reused on a different pair of speakers, and without the adapter it is a very odd shape and size.
I was bored and happened to have some alpine 6x9 and grabbed the front factory mounts from my CC that I pulled out. It fit exactly in there and matched the screw holes.

6x9 do blow for sound. They were developed to get larger speaker area on package trays of old sedans and provide bass without a sub. Oval speakers distort sound. Get 6.5 or even 7" and put them in the stock front location. Modern 6.5 can provide as much bass as a 6x9 but are more clear. Put a sub in back and you'll crank.

You can buy two aftermarket wiring harnesses so that you don't have to chop the factory harness to connect an LOC to your OEM HU. One is "regular" and the other is "reverse". Scosche NN03 and NN03R will work. They also sell them on Ebay as "Nissan 1995 & up". You need both of them.
The "reverse" harness plugs into your factory radio. You can solder & heatshrink all the connections for the regular & reverse harnesses and the LOC at your workbench or kitchen table, then just plug them together behind the dash bezel when you are doing the install. I used this LOC:
Thanks alot! I really needed that info on the Schoshe commectors. I took out the radio and said... Now I need some harness that comes out the factory radio for the LOC's!! Thanks a bunch for the numbers. I ordered both harness plugs. Now with that reverse harness, those will run the speaker leads to the LOC;s. I hope the signal/remote wire is there also. Did you have to hack any part of the factory harness, or do you just plug in the NN03 pigtails into the pigtails of the reverse harness for the radi power and such? I assume that is what I will have to do, use both the tie in the power and ground and remote, then set aside the reverse speaker leads and tie those into the LOC's that came with my amp. Which was nice to get 2 of those with my 4 channel amp. never seen this before.

Thanks to all of you guys. I got Sony 4 way 6.5's all 4 doors. I did my fronts, got that panel removal tool and that worked great, thanks for the tips on the door removal guys, that really helped out. Without buying the manual I would have missed the Door arm rest removal!!! I made a template of the original speaker thing and cut out plywood of the original shape and then cut the hole for the 6.5. Worked well. Now I have to do my rears. I started my power wire into the fire wall. I nice place to do this is at the wheel well arch at the carpet corner. I pulled up the carpet on the passenger side, its on velcro! exposed the metal, drilled her out, easiest power I have ever fished!
Need advice: Did some of you guys locate the amp where the jack sits? That is the only place I can place it out of the way, in case I want to remove the Sub I am installing, I want that separate from the amp. Any pics of the amp/box installs. I have a single 12" sub. some suggestions? Blaupunkt gave me box dimensions to use and sizes for ports
PICS??
Thanks Chris
