adding amp to stock radio

my friend has a f250 and has a stock radio, he had an amp installed on his stock radio, i know that stock radio do not have outputs to add amps, anwone know how they did this. he replaced all the speakers in the truck and added a sub also, sounds good!! i want to do this.....

A few people here have done this. The approach varies a bit depending on whether or not you have the "Rockford - Fosgate" system?

Ive seen it done in 03 when I bought my truck but the installer didnt know the diagram.By now it should be common.

Basically have to use a LOC (line out converter) to convert the signals to pre-amp.

are those not rare to find though? just asking... i don't think i've seen one of those in awhile. my old kenwood 4ch amp had those and before i changed my deck out in my old car i utilized them and they worked like a champ!! couldn't really tell the difference when i upgraded the deck to a 5v output...
