What should I do with my rear?

I am looking to do some things to my rear KC doors but am limited in space.

I run 5.1 listening to quite a bit of DVD-Audio otherwise I would just put some small woofers in there for some added bass. I currently have some alpine type R components in there that sound like *** compared to my ologys I have in the front, they dont match even in the slightest, so I definetly need to get another set from Ology and find some way to fit them in there, which brings me to my first question.

The ology tweeter is huge, roughly half the size of a can of soda. I was thinking of cutting out a hole on the KC door panel just behind (towards the rear of the cab) of the handle/cupholder/armwrest. I really dont want to cut any part of the door so another option would be to mount it to the removable grill thats on the KC doors, that part is cheap and easily replaceable. If I did it this way the tweeter would sit right in front of the midrange driver, and potentially block all the sound.

What advice/suggestions do you have?

Now on to my 2nd question. Can anyone think of anyway to mount some subs (8" maybe) in the rear door WITH the ology comonents. I would like a little more bass than my 10" sub puts out. I was thinking I could mount some infinite baffle under the existing midrange hole. but after looking the rear pocket is there and there is no grill.

Suggestions for additional bass that I can fit in the doors?

Thanks

You could just go with an 8" component of coaxial set. I know DLS makes some of both, you might want to check them out. Other than that, you could make a new sub box and put another 10" sub or upgrade to a nicer more powerful single 10" sub.

I wish it was that easy, I have a 10" shallow mount underneath the drivers seat. I can't put a box under the seats (I use that space, reason I bought the truck was the seats fold up giving me space) So i need a solution that goes in the door, or some other ideas.

Well, can you keep time alignment on your HU and fade fron't to back still?

I doubt you need something as nice as ology's plus you know they are going to be a real ***** to fit. You still want your frontstage to be better than the rear I would think. even with 5.1? Not positive on that though. It's not as critical as your front speakers you might just keep what you have now?

I fade all the way to the front when I listen to stereo, but when I do dvd-a I fade center, I also have to DTA accordingly.

For 5.1 you need the speakers to "match" IE should not sound to different, Ideally you would have the same power and same speakers all the way around (which is what I am doing). I just need to figure out how to make it all fit.

Those were the ones I was hoping to fit in there along with my 7" components, but I dont think I can make it fit.

Also someone else did that and did not like them infinite baffle, but now has them in a box and says the sound good.

Do a search for the eu-700 there should be a few threads with those.
