What options should I get on my Titan?
Hi I've searched around for this info but haven't been able to quite find what I need, sorry if this is a rehash.
I'm seriously thinking about trading in my 2003 Hummer H2 for 2006 titan LE. No matter what I am going to add a CarPC to do internet, mp3s, etc. I have to have NAV either via the Nissan option, or via the CarPC. The question I have is what is the best way to go with the Titan to get what I want, i.e which options should I get to get the best starting point for my CarPC addition?
Should I get Titan with the Nav or without?
If I don't get the NAV I could simply replace the headunit with a touch screen. But then I don't know if I can use the stock amps and speakers and am reluctant to start a chain reaction stereo replacement. Plus I don't think I'd be able to match all the integrated features with an aftermarket system so probably the best way to go is somehow use the stock system with the Nav.
The first thing I need to know is what additional inputs are available with the Titan's Nav system? Audio? (I know about the aux input on the dash, but is there a better one for higher quality input?) Video?
The trouble with adding to the Titan Nav system (sharing the screen I mean) is I'll have to somehow switch back and forth between it and my PC, which kinda sucks. But if I had to choose between that and the integrated features of the Titan's system, I'd probably rather have integrated features. I think.
The other option is to have the touch screen in addition to the nav screen, I'm just not sure where I'd put it. If it's just displaying "now playing" info and player controls, I could concievable use a pretty small display device. But that would be sub optimal for other uses, like surfing the web.
Gah, not sure what to do. Any experts on the Titan system want to chime in with your opinion? I'd surely appreciate it.
thanks,
Mike
