If you incline the rear wall to match the incline that goes up from the floor to the rear cab wall, you will capture more air space. With a perpendicular rear wall as show about, you will leave a wasted wedge shaped space at the rear of the box. At least that's the way it works on my '04 CC.

Yes, but .7 and .34 is enough for 10" and 8" subs So shoudl be decent. I guess if you had .4 needed for 8" subs that could capture it. Let me calculate real fast...

Ok, it would give you about .37 cu ft per 8" sub - not that much better

Believe me, you want more than an inch from the floor and the sub. The sub will take up at least half that space and then if it has any kind of excursion then you could hit the floor or just sound like crap.

I had 1.5" clearance on my 1st design and on my v.2.0 I gave 2.5" and it worked out much better. I have .75 cu ft in my CC with JL 10w3v2.

Here is my thread and pictures of the box. It's now sprayed with Line-X and all finished up. I will get my measurements this weekend and post them.

Did someone say 3.7 cu ft per 8 inch sub??? Why would you ever need that much space?

Typo .37 vs .34

And agreed on the more floor to woofer room! I just realized what my major malfunction was! My mounting depth is 5 1/4" on my subwoofer - but the 1/2" or 5/8" board will ABSORB some of that - the entire mounting depth is not INSIDE the airspace of the box! SWEET JESUS I AM SAVED! LOL!

That means I have only 4 3/4" or less inside the airpsace of the box! Ooo.. this is way more exciting now
