One of my channels on my 800A4 is on the fritz and I may need to go with an outside repair service as Rockford Fosgate Corp. flat rate service rates are astronomical (I hear).
Any advice would be appreciated!

The 800a4 can be a pain to repair. The case of the transistors are soldered directly to a layered copper/steel strip (MESHA). The repair is very tricky, and requires soldering skill to mount the transistors without thermally killing them. If justrepairs can do it for a resonable fee, go with them. Call Fosgate first for comparison.
In the past I have simply replaced the entire MESHA strip, which should still be available from Fosgate directly. The last one I bought was for a 1000a2 and it was $82 I believe.
