How do I get my stereo out?

I know this is probley a dumb question but how do I get my stereo out? I have the 6 disc changer in my truck. It was simple in my sierra.... But what im trying to do is wire up a few tweeters, is wiring them up to the cd player the way to do it or is there an easier way?

Re: How do I get my stereo out?

To get out the factory H/U you just pull the plastic off from the top of the plastic above the H/U and take out 4 screws that hold in the radio. But I would not do what you are trying to do... The factory system is set up to handle the existing speakers and every time you add a speaker you drop the Ohm load which causes the H/U to work in a way its not ment to and you can burn up the factory H/U. To do it right get an amp a set of seperates and a JL Cleansweep or Audio Control LC6. Adding Tweeters to the factory system may or may not damage your H/U but I have seen too many guys burn up stuff trying to do this.

Re: How do I get my stereo out?

Be carefull when pulling the bezel off. There are some green metal clips you can't see but you can hear falling while you pull off the plastic. When I put the bezel back on no radio. Had to take to dealer to fix, thankfully no charge. There is'nt much warning about those clips on these forums for novices like me.
