PIE amp install

Hey all,
I did some searching and found some good info. I am going to install a pie amp adapter to my sirius starmate replay going through aux to match volumes of radio. I am not real sure how the wiring will go. Although I am not an audiophile by any means I think I can follow a schematic. Does anyone know of a thread where someone has drawn a schematic for this install? Or could someone do me a big favor and draw one if not too hard, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

Mike

Re: PIE amp install

Did you already check these threads? I don't recall seeing a diagram, but the pics may help.

Re: PIE amp install

Thanks for the links. For whatever reason, I seem to follow diagrams better and was hoping someone had posted one. I think I understand what these guys did but would feel better if I saw it in a diagram.

Thanks again
Mike

Re: PIE amp install

Well, if you'd like I can try to draw something up for you. What exactly do you need? Wire colors and polarity or something else?

Wow, thanks Sammy. Yes, I will be using the same PIE you used in your install a while back, just instead of the iriver MP3 I will be using my sat radio. But I mainly need a wiring diagram using the PIE, sat radio and AUX. Did that make sense?

Thanks again
Mike

Re: PIE amp install

Okay, it's not a professional schematic, but let me know if this is what you needed. If there's something missing I can add it easily.

Re: PIE amp install

I should probably also say that this is the way I wired mine up, but there is a different way if you'd like both your sat radio and the OEM aux boosted. You follow the same basic plan, but you cut the AUX line so that it feeds into the input of PIE, then output as shown. That way anything you plug in to the AUX runs through the PIE. Make sense?

Re: PIE amp install

I was wondering what is the maximum safe input level for the AUX jack? If nobody has info specific to the Titan, does anybody know about the maximum safe level for the AUX input of HUs generally?

Re: PIE amp install

I got one that I don't need anymore. It's yours for $10 with shipping included, if you want it and can wait a little while.

I thinks eakes posted that there is a device to use the N-Bus sat connector to provide two AUX inputs.

Re: PIE amp install

That would probably work well, wouldn't solve the volume problem though
