Hey all,
I have owned my Titan for 1 month yesterday, and I noticed this afternoon that on the front of the truck and all over the hood there are paint chips everywhere. I am not in the position to get a clear-bra installed, so my question is this... How good is the touch-up paint that Nissan sells? It is pretty cheap, and should match perfectly with the Smoke color, I just wanted to know if it was the way to go or not. I am concerned that if I try to paint it on it will not be even with the rest of the paint job since there will be no clear coat on top of the touch-ups, and I am not sure how easy it is to cover these little holes.
Anyway, if anyone has some suggestions I would appreciate it. Your experiences with the touch-up paint, application ease, etc... anything helps. I tried searching the site, but I couldn't find any threads about the Nissan touch-up paint.
Thanks in advance for the help!

it wouldn't blend in right still. you would have to wetsand it down and put a clearcoat. there's those mobile guys that do it for car dealers than can do it good.
go for a bug shield if you can so it won't get worse.

If you have a WHOLE lot of chips, it may be a warranty issue. If you happen to drive in an area that road chips are common, then get the base /clear touch up paint. True it may not match perfect, but it beats rust. Remove wax/grease with Goof-Off, then cover lightly with base (color). Build clear in light layers. Let it dry. Build in layers. Patience is the key. BTW...Don't put nail polish on car paint. Save it for your wives toes. You will get lucky.
You would have to actually buy a truck first, troll.
If you can't offer help, butt out.
lol...DONKEY!!..also I had some lil knacks in the fron of my truck as well...just put some touch up paint ...then a couple days later waxed it with turtle wax black wax (just that spot) and then went over the whole truck with meguiers nxt tech wax....man it looks beAUTiful...but mines a freakin year old already...1 month sounds to soon...
and I got a black truck so I dont think should do the black wax...lol...just cought that
Thanks everyone for the replies. I live in San Antonio, and none of the roads I travel on have loose gravel. Since it has only been a month that I have owned the truck, I think I will call the dealership sometime this next week and see what they say about it. After looking closely at all the chips, only one appears to have been made by a rock or gravel. It is gouged out pretty good. The other 10 or so chips look more like the paint just fell off the primer
Well, we will see how it goes.

We had a Titan came in right off the hauler with a sh$t ton of rock chips. It was due to the trip to our dealership and it was on the front of the hauler on the bottom level right behind the truck. The company that owned the hauler had to pay for it. When we check in the trucks we fill out a form saying there is no defects before we sell it. If they have that form and it says there were no defects then I'm sure they won't pay for it. You will either have to take it to the body shop or get some touchup paint. We give away Nissan touch up paint for free. I think most dealerships do. Good luck.
