I wasn't sure where to post this so I thought I'd just do it in this area.
A friend of mine owns his own stereo shop called Elegonics (www.elegonics.com) and with his CNC machine been making custom consoles and boxes for Toyota Scions for the past year and has been quite a success (he'll be getting patents and builds boxes for several Scion dealerships in Texas).
What I'm trying to do is get a feel for how many folks would be interested in a standard custom (stealth) sub box for our Nissan Titans. I know the JL Stealthbox and the MTX Thunderforms are a little pricey and the eBay boxes seem to be not the greatest of quality. He personally likes Titan's, reason for him to try this endeavor. He will build a couple of prototypes for the crew cab and we'll see what sounds the best and then give it a unique flare in regards to install.
Questions:
- Would ya'll want a box designed for underneath the rear seat (one side, or the whole thing) or build for underneath the front seats?
- Plexi or no plexi, etching or no etching, etc.
- Amp rack or no amp rack if underneath the seat.
Our goal is to create a standard set of custom boxes for the Titan to COMPETE and beat the Stealthbox, Audio-Enhancer, and Thunderform designs in regards to cosmetics, customization, and most of all PRICE.
Here is an example of what Elegonics has done for Scion.
Click on each picture on the left to see a description of the box and how they drop in.
Of course for the box...we will etch "Titan" instead. Here is another design for same vehicle, different location but still stealth and performs.
There are several possibilities. I'm not selling anything b/c nothing has been built yet...that's where I need ya'lls help. I think this is a need to be filled. With all the help I've received on Titan Talk I'm hoping I can follow through with this and give something right back to you guys.

I would take one for under the front seat... drivers side... for a shallow 10" box, with as much airspace as you can get out of it (the box I made has aprox .5 before displacement)
etching would be cool, but you wouldn't really see it.
a plexi box is nice especially w/ some lights too to show it off but plexi is expensive.
what would be cool is an amp rack for my 04 rear wall that is etched out to the grooves of the sheet metal and protruding bolts. that way it's bolt on.

I say screw the under the rear seat thing, its been done to death... there are already a million places to get one of those, and its not that hard to build one for that area if you wanted.
I hear you, Grunge. We can't please all the masses but we're thinking the same lines in regards to uniqueness. So far we're looking at a underneath front seat enclosure and under rear seat enclosure (w/ or w/o amp rack). I'll let you all know. Please keep your interests coming.

I would vote for a box that could fit a shallow mount 10 or 12" sub behind the back seats... double 10" or 12"s would be awsome...
that sounds good...we need more boxes for the king cabs though...even though there are a lot out for the crew the king cab is still limited compared to...
also we need for 12" subs...none of this 10" or 8" cr@p...
Maybe the center console extends all the way into the rear, splitting the left and right rear seats (mimicking the front seats) and throw a 12" in there?
Yes, definitally need more boxes for the kingcab. I would love a dual 10 sealed box that takes up the whole space under the rear seat. Downfiring would be best. Or even a single ported downfiring box for a 10 under the rear seat. I don't like the idea of under the front seat because you just can't get enough airspace and depth for some serious bass. Etching or whatever would just be a bonus. If it said "Titan" or something might be cool though. If there's enough airspace, an integrated amp rack would be nice too, but I'm not sure it would work for a kingcab truck. Like I said, we need boxes for the kingcab desperately! The JL box is a joke! Oh, and maximum mounting depth possible.

Those boxes look really good. I wish you could get .75 cu ft boxes under the front seats. I think offering several different configurations of boxes would be the best. Under CC/KC seat with 1 or 2 subs and amp racks in middle. That is the best option(s) for SQ. I don't think you are going to get anything behind the back seat as there is just not enough room to even put a sub let alone a box for a sub. But can't hurt to try. I like the etching, nice touch. What would be cool is to have the lettering raised so it came out in 3-D. I was going to do this with my under seat box and made the letters but never got around to getting it sprayed.
