Few pics of my sub and amp install.

Well I finally got around to building my sub box. It's a little bigger than I wanted to build, but it's still a little undersized for the two 10's so I didn't want to go any smaller and didn't want to lose both sides of the floor. I'm happy with the end results. I have Infinity Reference speakers all the way around and the Kicker 5-channel amp to power it all. It's a pretty simple set up, but it sounds great.

good work on the stuff. I wanted to do something similiar but the I would need the box to be flush against the seat ( not stick out ). Looks good.

Thanks. I didn't want it to stick out either, but in order to get enough box size without using both sides of the truck I had to compromise a little.

that's why i'm looking at doing a under the front seat(s) sub. Then I don't have to worry about the back at all.

I looked into that also. There just isn't enough room for a good box under there. You can do a free air, or a slim sub, but they just don't hit like a nice sealed box does.

Re: Few pics of my sub and amp install.

Why didn't you put the amp on the rear wall? What did you do with the jack?

The amp wouldn't fit on the rear wall in my King Cab. The Kicker amp was just too big. And the jack is now in the tool box.

Re: Few pics of my sub and amp install.

What are the dimensions on it? Myself and grunge have both fit some pretty good size amps behind the rear the driver's side seat. You may have to grind down or cut short some bolts coming through the rear wall, but its no big deal. Just nice to have it all the way out of the way. And to have a jack.

Oh, and grunge, how did you attach your amp to the wall back there? Mine is just wedged there right now and I have some industrial velcro so it doesn't move side to side, but would like something more permenant.

The dimensions are 20x21/8x95/8. It fit, but without removing the center seat belt retractor the seat back wouldn't latch. And even then it would hit the amp. I like it were it is, besides having the tool box for the jack, it will be useless soon anyway. The OEM jack won't work with a lift.

Re: Few pics of my sub and amp install.

Oh, that is really wide. Mine DLS A5 amp is only in the 18" range.

lol, you would have to ask wouldn't you. I will have to measure it for you. I don't remember exactly. I think it's about 34" long, 12" deep and about 6-8" high. (it's angled)

Yeah...

You just gave me a good idea in trying to use the space where you amp is to extend the box there and gain more space... could it be done?

Possibly, but there isn't much space there to use. When the seat is down, it just about touches the amp.
