Installed Kenwood powered sub

Installed my new kenwood KSC-SW1 powered subwoofer today and you wouldn't believe the improvement over the mid oem system. I have the 6 cd changer non rf system and this powered sub exceeded my expectations by 1000%. This tiny 150 watt 6.5" powered subwoofer fits perfectly in the optional tool tray under the rear seat on the passenger side. If you're lacking that extra bass you missed and don't want over-powering butt rattling thump, this is it.

By what means did you go about getting the signal to it? Did you use a LOC (Line Output Converter)? If so, which one? Thanks.

Re: Installed Kenwood powered sub

The powered sub can use either rca plug or speaker lead input, I used the rear speaker leads as an input, very easy to install, no extra adapters to buy.

Re: Installed Kenwood powered sub

Do you have a king cab or a crew cab? Can you please try to see if it fits behind the rear seats? maybe a pair of this boxes behind(not underneath) the rear seat can work out great for those interested in not loosing valuable space under the rear seats...

THX in advance...

Re: Installed Kenwood powered sub

I just read the reviews for this powered sub system on Crutchfield, 99% satisfaction, everyone on the review states that they expected much less performance from it and it surpassed their expectations by more than a 100% in output and sound quality...

Nice product..

Re: Installed Kenwood powered sub

I have a kc and that plastic tool tray under the rear seat was handy for storage. What was nice about this was I didnt have to take out that tray. Originally, I was going to install the sub under the front passenger seat, but didnt want to feel the bass in the front seat. The sub fits nice and snug in the passenger side tray insert and didn't need any mounting brackets and that tray acts as box by itself. Anyway, the sound was much better than I expected, now I have the radio bass set at +1 and have plenty of bass and can raise the volume to 24 and 0 distortion. Install took just over an hour.

Did you try to test fit it under the front passanger seat?

Re: Installed Kenwood powered sub

I found it for $152 on this web page with free shipping.

http://www.caraudioimage.com/index.c...product_id=837

Could be worth that. Its 100 bucks less than Crutchfield or Car Domain.

That's what I paid from: http://www.caraudioimage.com/index.c...TOKEN=51520532. It was packaged securely and was shipped UPS the next morning. Oh, Best Buy also sells it for $249.99.

Re: Installed Kenwood powered sub

I installed this little sub not expecting to like it but was pleased with the big sound this thing puts out. Ran the signal through a LOC and installed high pass filters on the factory speakers. I put it under the passenger seat and think I will either move it to the drivers side or install a second. The thump felt through the seat is pretty good. Not a good sub if you really want to boom but I think it adds very nice low end to the factory system without taking up much space or money.

Re: Installed Kenwood powered sub

Hello. I just purchased one of these myself and got it yesterday. How did you hook up the power source? Did you tapp it into somewhere or did you hook it up to the battery? Thanks!

Thumbs up Re: Installed Kenwood powered sub

I installed this sub under my front passenger seat this weekend. Very easy install! (Thanks Sudden Urge for the tips) I was very surprised at the sound this little sub puts out. It sounds great!! I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Like Sudden Urge said, it's not going to blow your window out, but it definitely does the job and puts out great sound. If you are looking for a sub to take up no space at all, and give you some really good bass, then this is it!!
