Re: Howmany of you guys out there have installed you own indash dvd player?

I have done several.. Right now I am using a kenwood, the install for these things is pretty easy, but can be time consuming. In the titan however I thought it was much easier than many vehicles.

I am using a flip out which has a separate brain box that I have under the passenger seat. This is more involved then going with a double din unit which usually is completely self contained.

The parking brake thing is easy, you just ground it. unless you go with a pioneer avic unit, where that doesn't work.

I installed mine. An Eclipse Double Din. It was pretty easy, and as far as the parking brake goes, the wire is actually labled "Parking Brake", so just ground out that wire. Really easy.

I installed my kenwood as well...

Pretty easy...especially if u get the reverse connector for ur stock wiring...u hook everything outside the truck then just snap it into the stock stuff...

Re: Howmany of you guys out there have installed you own indash dvd player?

I've got the Clarion flip up in my truck. It is self contained (no external brain). As far as the parking brake wire goes on my unit, you cannot just ground it out. Some newer head units require that the parking brake be released and then applied again. So, my parking brake wire is just a ground but there is a switch on it. Basically, when I go to Visual or DVD mode I have to flip the switch over to break the connection and then flip it back. It is mounted under my dash, very close to my right knee. It was easy to do and I ran my power inverter to it also so that it cuts my X-box off as well.

Will most of the Double Din's work or are some to deep for the dash. I remember reading somewhere that a couple people had the units sticking out slightly.
