custom 8 inch touchscreen install and new my new system
alright guys i havent had much time to post these pictures and sorry that the truck is a mess and dusty... i took them right after the install.. ill take more after i clean the beauty! but here they are.. it is a Kenwood LZ-800w 8" touchscreen above the dash.. the HU is the Kenwood KVT-911 (same one from previous system) and the new sub box with 4 Rockford 10" P2's... (previous system had 2 Rockford 10" P3's).... they are powered by the rockford t10001bd amp.. next install will be adding another of the same amp and switching out the p2's with the new rockford slim 10" p3... i cant wait but for now here it is! tell me what you guys think... the 8 inch touchscreen can play anything that is on the HU plus i will be adding the navi system to it and maybe a slim ps2 in the center console for some extra fun (lol not while driving tho, i dont wanna put any fellow tt members in danger!)...

Looks sweet man! I like the screen in the stock Navi place. Do you have enough airspace for each of those subs?

its about .06 cubic feet off per box but it has some polyfil in it to help make up for it... the box is maxed out on space under the seat... it sounds really good... im sure with a bigger box it would sound even better though... but for now im happy... i originally was going to take the back seats out and build a ported box and amp rack for 2 rockford t2 12's but this was more practical to do so i went with this... the p3's i had defaintely sounded cleaner then the p2's right now but im very happy with the result..

Man, I don't know how those cones even move. Seems like they would overheat as well with that little air. My two 10s have .7 cu ft and that's less than they were designed for.

the recommended volume for the p2's are .65 cubic feet... each sub has roughly .60 cubic feet.. at the time i was unsure about this too but the install guy said he could make it work and that it would sound great.. i listened to him cause i have heard some of the stuff he has done and he also won an award in arizona. we have something called the best of phoenix.. and people go around with numerous categories rating companies and people as the best of phoenix in that certain category... it definately hits HARD and im happy with it.. your right about the overheating tho... i have to watch that, thanks

lol..my bad... i think i meant to right that they are .05 cubic feet less than the recommended volume.. because they should have .65 cf, but only have .60 cf per sub.

Re: custom 8 inch touchscreen install and new my new system
How did you get .6 per sub in the back of the KC? My box is .6cubic feet per sub and I can only fit 2 subs and 90% of the space is utilized? Or do you have some kind of seat lift? Not that I plan to get any more subs it's already too loud.
Actualy wondeirng WTF I'm going to do with these Super Subs (TC OEM 10s) I bought now...

i dont have the steering wheel controls in my truck... it would be nice to have it tho. I use the remote with the deck so i dont have to reach across to change tracks, etc.

The install guy made the box to the max he could. He built it to come out about two inches towards the front seats and the box width wise goes completely door to door. I believe he also has the section over the "hump" on the floor connected to give it a little more air space.
