Quick ? about rear speakers

I am about to hook up some kenwood componets to the rear doors. Do you fellas know if the stock tweeter and speaker have two seperate inputs, or if the tweeter is fed off of the door speaker. I need to know so I can hook up the crossover for my new set. If they are seperate, do I put both pairs of wires into the input of the crossover? Hope this is understandable. Thanks

Re: Quick ? about rear speakers

I'm pretty sure the tweeters are hooked with the speaker. I think they just put a resistor in line. Be warned the speaker I believe are 2 ohm not 4.

You would be better off purchasing new component speakers. Do a search there has been extensive discussions on this. good luck

Re: Quick ? about rear speakers

Rear door speakers in the 04 were wired in parallel, ie only one pair of audio wires into the door. I would expect the 05 to be wired the same.

Thanks for the info. I did buy a new set pic is below of what I am putting in. Eventually I will replace the front speakers, and run everything off an amp. I figured the back door looks like a quicker install than doing the front.

Kenwood KFC-P707, great reviews for a mid-level set. They retail for 170-250 and I managed to get them for 65.00 on ebay including shipping. Thus, why I only have the first set, I cant find another deal like that.

Re: Quick ? about rear speakers

one input for both speakers(also same input for front dash and front door) on the SE 06 --not RF system----curious thing?--i pulled all my speakers --some had 2ohm some had 4 ohm printed on the back---if you are putting 4 ohm speakers into a 2 ohm system they won't sound any better unless you replace the amp
