CD Changer Problems ...

Yesterday my CD changer will no longer read a cd. It will load and eject the cd, but the cd will not play. The screen will just say disc loading and after a minute or so will say to eject the disc. This is the nonRF cd changer. I have a suspicion that my 1 year old may have put something (change, toy) into it, but I took the face plate off and could not see anything inside the changer. I did not take the changer out of the dash as I did not see any way to do it easily.
Any suggestions in my course of action, or is it off to the dealer for me?

Re: CD Changer Problems ...

Was it a burnt cd? My stereo was giving me issues like that when i made an mp3 disc, but it was because i didnt "finalize" the process in my burning software.

I had two burnt cd's and four retail cd's in the changer. I sounds like it is switching and loading different cd's, but the player will not play anything. I had these same cd's in for about a week with no problems. Dont know ... I just was wondering if there is anything I can do since the closest dealer is 75 miles away.

Re: CD Changer Problems ...

sounds like a laser issue. It's either dead or something is stuck on it.
