Question about install...

ok, I just got back from purchasing the Alpine IVA-W200 from best buy, and only bought it from there bc i had major coupons. Anyways, i was talking with their install guy, and he said he doesnt have a double din kit for it, the only thing he has is the scoshe single din kit . I told him i had already ordered the new radio bezel from nissan, bc i knew the color didnt match on the scoshe one and he said he would have to more than likely do a custom install on it since he doesnt have a kit. so my question is, what has everyone else done that has installed this? I appreciate the help, and mroe than likely i will just go to my normal custom shop and stay away from the big chains....

Re: Question about install...

There is no special custom install needed. All you need is the factory double din bezel from Courtesy parts and reuse the brackets from the factory radio. Snap on the trim ring from Alpine and you're done. The guy at Best Buy will realize this when he see's the bezel you ordered, he obviously hasn't had much experience with Titans.

One think to remember is to buy the PAC TR7 so you can defeat the video safety or make sure to hook up the safety because you cannot do normal things like set the clock or change any settings that has to involve the screen without the safety hooked up or bypassed. Of course, if you hook up the safety the normal way you will have to stop and put the e-brake on so you can adjust most of the settings. I recommend the TR7, it's cheap and super easy to hook up. Either way, enjoy and don't let that guy at BB worry you.

Re: Question about install...

quick question. i have an 06 xe, so for the install i would just need to buy the part that holds the deck in place, seen it on ebay for about 10 bucks, and i can re use my xe bezel. is this correct or am i missing something. dont like the scoshe bezels either.

Re: Question about install...

all radios should have an oem steel double din-appropriate bracket that can be reused so if you have an XE model, you're one step ahead of SEs and LEs. i installed two single dins using my stock SE radio bracket and the XE bezel.

btw, don't forget the pac swi-alp to restore the controls. very straightforward install and works reliably.
