I like the 6500s from edesignaudio.com And if you are talking about the OEM RF amp, yeah, you would need to get a decent amp.

Re: I want louder then the RF package but dont wanna break the bank...

Something that puts out 150 watts true RMS x 2 @ 4 ohms.

edesignaudio has a Nine 4 that would work. Their site shows a 15% discount for a package deal. So I think that would be (250 + 235) - 15% shipped. They have a live internet chat thing where they are pretty good about answering questions.

But there are a ton of different amps that would work. You would want to get an amp with real RMS power ratings, not some piece of junk with a misleading peak power rating.

And then you would need to think if you want to do anything about sub(s).

Yup, one set consists of drivers for the doors, tweets for the dash, & crossovers. One set is plenty adequate, you could abandon the rear door speakers. (I have two sets in a CC driven by 4 x 100 TRU amp and it gets ridiculously loud.) You would need to make MDF mounting baffles, pull speaker wire through the door boots & deaden the doors (dynamat, etc.). See Sammy's stickied install thread at the top of this seciton.

lol...whoa so I guess these are some high quality speakers huh?? sounds like something Ill like...any good reccomendations for an amp though that isnt to much but will give good power? Could I keep the rockford amp and let it still run the back speakers or would I have to replace or give them power from a new amp or how would that work? I DO have an aftermarket deck...

Re: I want louder then the RF package but dont wanna break the bank...

I haven't tried the eds yet but I want to... I am personally very very impressed with the diamond d6 line. $140 on ebay can't be beat.

As far as an amp goes, look around at your local pawn shops or on ebay. I am building a system for a civic right now and I have all the amps (1000x1, 200x2, and 100x2) that I was able to hunt around for for under 300$

The OEM speakers will just pollute the sound. You would need to either disconnect or replace them. You could get a 4 x 100 amp and get some decent speakers for rear fill w/o spending a bunch of money on the rear speakers. The old addage a picture speaks 1000 words applies. Check out this pic of the OEM "350 watt" RF amp (the little one on the floor) versus a couple of decent amps:

Yeah, there is a huge difference. Maybe there is a group buy going on?

http://www.edesignaudio.com/groupbuy.php I think $185 instead of $250?

There are some other components that people rave about (sea lotus, rainbows) but they are kind of spensive.

Re: I want louder then the RF package but dont wanna break the bank...

For the 6500's shipped to texas it comes out to 197.73 and for the 9.2 amp (which they say would run the 6500's it would be 175 shipped...so coming to a total of 372.73...

I was thinkin since I got an aftermarket deck I could always fade it to the front and leave the rear speakers as is right? and the front ones will just be way louder?

Is the 9.2 a good amp?

I don't have any personal experience with the 9.2. I have noted from reading the forums that people are generally pretty happy with them. It is rated 2 x 100 @ 4 ohms, so you would just be driving the front speakers and driving the rear speakers off the deck power.

well the rear speakers would still be gettin the power from the RF amp right?
