Tapping into Right Cig Lighter Power
I removed the radio cover and found where the right cigarette ligher wires go in to the socket. There were two wires that I could see: a black one and a green/white stripe one. Would it be better to tap into here or just extend my wires to the fuse box and use the radio shack fuse taps? If tapping into the lighter, which wire is the 12V power?
In removing the radio cover, I also lost all of the stupid little green clips. I am hoping these don't haunt me as I go over ever bump  Can you purchase replacement ones by themselves?Thanks, Brent |

What are you going to power? I tapped into one for my Ipod charger and it works good, but I wouldn't for a new radio or anything.

How did you lose the green clips? the black wire is the ground and the green/white is hot wire, this is how is connected my sirius sat.

Not to hijack the thread- but how does the radio face plate come off? I about have the finesse of an ox when it comes to dismantling delicate plastics.

very carefully you have to remove other parts first before you remove the center piece

Thats how I got power to my V1. NEver seen a green clip in there. You wil need to reset your airbag after you setup up power.
