Re: tapping rear speakers fo crew cab to put amp and sub...

you need an LOC (line-out converter)
all you do is tap the speaker wires and run them to the LOC, then plug your RCA's into the LOC and then the other end of the RCA's to the amp, turn the LOC gain all teh way up, and set gain at the amp... very simple... LOC's are sold at any audio store, i got mine from wally world... it was a scoche (sp?) decent quality for about $20...

Re: tapping rear speakers fo crew cab to put amp and sub...

when you open door, you can see bundle of wires going to door (for power windows, door locks and speakers) you have to find a diagram to find out which are speaker wires, if you dealer is good they will supply you with a diagram, then see if you can get the panel off that is where the wires come from not the door panel and tap them from there, thats how i did the wifes jeep and it worked like a champ, i had to remove seat belt mouning bolts, whick takes a torx head socket, (star) and make sure if you do that you torque it back properly (real tight works too). doing it this way make wires easier to route...

are you CC or KC?

rear right speaker is orange/blue= + red /blue= - amplifier should be powered straight to the battery using the correct fuse size no more than 12" inches from the battery. ground should be kept as short as possible to the chassis. try using one of the seat bolts. always use a volt meter to double check all wiring.

Hey titanic, you're not in the market for an amp are you? If so, I have a Kenwood KAC4202 I just took out of my car and trying to sell it now. It puts out 425 watts, 2 channel and seeing about selling it for $140 if you're interested. I only had the amp for like 2 weeks and now I have no need for it since I'm running a Kicker in my Titan. Let me know if you're interested. I'm in Imperial Beach.
