just ordered box from tech12volt

Well, I've been trying to find a box for over 6 months now with no success and several bumps in the road. Then, out of the blue, here come these posts raving about this enclosure that tech12volt builds. So I emailed him today and we talked on the phone and I've placed my order! I'll be using 2 JL 10W1v2's in my 2004 KC. I had originally planned to down fire my subs. I've always downfired before and so at first when he said he only would do it up firing I was skeptical but when I read his reasons why, it made sense. At least sense enough to move forward. I'm actually really curious to see how the upfiring box compares to the downfiring box.

I'll keep ya'll updated!

Re: just ordered box from tech12volt

My box is on the way! I can't believe how fast he got it done for me (I was really in a jam because I got screwed by someone else but that's another story). It should be here by Thursday and if my subs are here by then, I plan to have it installed this weekend. I'll post install pics as soon as I can!

I can never say thanks enough for getting this done so quickly! You have no idea how much I agree about bad customer service! It seems like people have completly forgotten that they are there for YOU, the customer. I see it everyday in different situations. But I found it especially true with this install. Previous installs not so much I think because the types of cars were more common but Titans are rare here and so no one wanted to give me the time of day. I was so surprised that people didn't want my business. I'd call some places and just over the phone they'd say, "nope, can't be done". I'd tell them I've seen it done and they still were like, "nope, we can't do it". So of course you dont want someone building your box if you have to force them. Its just maddening.

Thumbs up Re: just ordered box from tech12volt

I got my box from Tech12Volt on Friday - sorry for the late post, I had a "family diaster" over the weekend.
Friday I left work around noon to go check out the box that I knew had been delivered. First let me say that the packing job was great! I know this may sound petty to some, but I've gotten equipment shipped in the WORST conditions imaginable so to have this come in such great shape was just icing on the cake.

I tore threw the box like a kid on christmas morning and it exceeded my expectations! The construction is solid and flawless. The cost of the box is low in my opinion. For the quality of work you are getting, you might as well be robbing him. I feel like I robbed him, like I owe him more money! That's how great this box is. I can be a cheap SOB but when you're getting something of this quality, its worth every penny and then some.

I was in a jam - a big, big jam. The audio co. I paid (1/2 down) to build my box locally went out of business after 13 years - and took my deposit and box-in-progress with them. So I was left with nothing. The other shops in my area didn't want my business - I was told subs under the rear seat "couldn't be done". BULL****, of course. When I explained to Tech12Volt that I was finishing this install as a surprise for my significant other, he gave up his Sunday to build my box and get it shipped to me right away. Now that's service! I can never thank him enough for that. Gift wrapped subs just wouldn't have been the same as a gift wrapped titan with a new (and complete) audio system.

As for the carpet match - I have an 04 Titan, I called Nissan about 6 months ago to inquire about the color of my carpet and was told that the 04 Titan only comes in 3 colors - Light Grey, Charcoal (black) & Tan. So, I explained this to Tech12Volt (I have grey) and he matched the carpet EXACT. I can't speak for other model years but that's the skinny on carpet color for 04's.

I'll be installing my subs tomorrow hopefully (Wednesday at the latest) and will get some pics posted.

Tech12Volt - I'll give you a ring tonight. Thanks for the fantastic work! I'll be your second biggest supporter, right behind lizardking!

Re: just ordered box from tech12volt

i am speechless after reading that. I have tried to explain to the owner of the shop i work for that customer service and quality of work is the only thing that separates us from big companies (best buy hifi buys. circuit city ). But he just does not understand. When i decided to start building boxes and sell them on ebay he wanted to be my partner. i refused because he just does not have the same look at quality and customer service that i do. This is exactly how i like for my customers to feel when they recieve a box from me. I actually worry about whether a customers box is what they are expecting and i try to give more. i really do. And just because someone is in a jam does not give anyone the right to charge that person more. Its actually the time you should step up and help that person out. Its just the way i am. So once again THANK YOU sincerely. And if any of you need anything please let me know. i will be working on those free enclosures right after christmas guys. you know who you are.And by the way i have had some great customers in my day. But i honestly have to say. and this is the truth. You guys are the BEST customers i have ever dealt with. Basically you are great and thank you for welcoming me.And lizard i cut your ebay and kicker logos out today. AGAIN THANK YOU FOR ONE HELL OF A COMPLIMENT.
