Mac Mini Install

has anyone seen a titan xe se or le with a mac mini custom installed kind of like macvroom.com that? I have been thiking of taking my radio out, then cutting a hole for a 7 inch screen in that main face teplate, then put it where my radio was and put my macmin-battery backup- power wiring under my dash. I would have navigation and all that good stuff installed, no problem for me, i am very good with computers. what do you think?

Re: Mac Mini Install

Great idea. Are you going through with the installation? I own a Mac Mini and a Titan also. You have peaked my interest in the idea of a Mini in my Titan.

Re: Mac Mini Install

I think something like this will be my next big project for the Titan, maybe a year off, but it's something I have been kicking around for quite some time.

Re: Mac Mini Install

I'm going to try to start it right after christmas, Im so excited, im ordering 4 isight cameras along with the mac mini to put on each side of car, and build a water proof case for them, i would use the back one for a backup / race cam and the other 3 as race cams, and film all my races and post them on here

Have you checked out the mp3car.com website & forums? If you're serious about putting a mac mini or any kind of car pc in your Titan, you need to check out their site and especially the forums. Its the BEST resource out there. I'm planning an install in my mazda3 and that site really is unbeatable for info on the subject.

Here are some Titan installs people have done:

Re: Mac Mini Install

Just make sure you have enough cooling. I have a mini among other computers and my 3 flat panels sitting on my desk. They heat up quite well and only have that tiny vent in the back.

Also, since I am a grammar/spelling bastard...interest is piqued not peaked. I guess you could say peaked if you mean it, but it's not where the saying comes from since people rarely mean that their interest is at a peak but rather that it has excited/aroused their interest.

Re: Mac Mini Install

Screw the mac mini...go with one of these fanless systems.

http://www.logicsupply.com/index.php/cPath/49

This is one I am considering...500GB of storage....tons of movies and audio.
http://www.cappuccinopc.com/slimpro-sp631b.asp

Oh yea, make sure to buy one with a serial port...the OBD2 to serial is a lot cheaper than OBD2 to USB (just incase you wanna integrate a Titan monitoring system)
