'04 Titan Factory CD changer install

Hello,
I have an '04 Titan and bought a factory CD changer and face plate control panel that came from an '06 Armada. But the problem is that the wiring harness connections are not the same. My '04 only has 2 connections while the '06 has those two, pus an additional 3 on the back of the unit. Then the face plate has a female cable connection (approx. 12") that appears to be the power for it and also a connection for an MP3 player plug. I assume that the control panel either plugs into something from the main harness of the truck or into the back of unit with an connector of some sort. And the same for the MP3 connection. Any suggestions on how or if this will even work? Thanks..

Re: '04 Titan Factory CD changer install

Is it a BOSE system from the Armada?
Also welcome to TT.

This doesn't have any brand name such as Bose or Rockford/Fosgate on the face plate. The changer unit itself says made by Panasonic. Thanks, glad to be here.

I believed the face plate plug into the back of the headunit, than the two harness you have goes into two of the plug, the other plug is for the dvd harness, so you can skip that. Since it's an Armada stereo, best bet is to go to www.clubarmada.com

Re: '04 Titan Factory CD changer install

Ok that's good info about the DVD conn. I assume the other conn is for the MP3. The plug from the control plate doesn't fit on any of the plugins on the head though. I was hoping the dealer would have some info on connection points or even cables that could be ordered. Or at least a wiring diagram showing what went where, but no luck. I also checked a local install shop and they looked at it and said since it was from different years mine doesn't have the right harness and connection. The guy I got it from on ebay said his installer used the existing wiring for his aftermarket CD/DVD. I'll check with the Armada folks and maybe they'll know of a fix. if not, back to auction it'll go with a lesson well learned. Thanks for the feedback....
