oem sirius tuner

on a scale from 1 to 10, how hard of an install is this? if i attempt this i would probably go through the kick plate like i saw someone do on this site, and i will probably run the stigma antennae through the headliner and down the driver's side pillar to the unit.i don't have that little plastic tool to help with the install ,but i hear people use plastic putty knives to help pop off the plastic panels, any thoughts?

Re: oem sirius tuner

I have the factory sirius tuner. If I had to do it over again, I would get an aftermarket tuner. They offer many more features, cost a lot less, and I can get a real display out of them. The display on the RF stereo system for Sat Radio sucks.

Also, if you want to retain the use of your aux input on the front of the radio, I believe there is a module that connects to the back of your radio and offers 2 aux inputs.

Also, I like the fact that the Sigma antenna mounts inside the windshield, but I think you get fewer signal cut-outs with the external antenna (at least from what I can tell from my friend's setup).

Re: oem sirius tuner

Timster: Is that to say that the song and artist are not displayed on the RF? I had a Sirius Sportster and have just installed the OEM Sirius receiver (Part No 999U9-AS006) to replace it. I called Sirius to find out how to get the display to show the song and artist and they told me that it should work and to try to find the User Manual online - for some reason, Sirius does not have the User Manual for the Sirius receiver.

Did I just give up on the song and artist display in exchange for a more compact and clean looking system? Thanks.
