I have owned my 2006 Titan SE 4x2 CC for about two months now (about 6000 miles). I am very happy with no problems until this morning. On my way to work this morning, while listening to the radio with the volume at about 15 (I have the 6 disk changer RF system), it went totally silent. No more sound was coming from the speakers. Everything was still working: I could still change volume from the steering wheel or the dash, I could still change radio stations or mode, could still change the cd or work everything else for that matter. In summary, the only thing missing was any sound coming from the speakers. I drove for another 30 minutes like that. When I pulled into my work parking, still no sound. I turned the engine off, then just out of trial and error, I cranked the truck back up right away. And...magically the sound was back. The behavior has not repeated itself on my way home. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
Can't have that happening. Looks like you better rip out the entire factory stereo and go aftermarket. That sort of misbehavior could cause and accident.

P-Dizzle,
Thanks for the reply. Although I am not sure I fully understand your answer.
1. Do you have any idea of a possible cause for the audio going silent in the first place?
2. What do you mean by "That sort of misbehavior could cause an accident"? What kind of "accident" caused by having no sound are you referring to?
3. With all due respect, don't you think that your solution of "ripping out the entire factory stereo and going after market" is a bit too premature and radical? First thing I would do regardless, is go to the dealer and report the problem anyway, since I am under warranty...
I think that P was just messing with you. It sounds like your factory amp could be heating up and shutting down. Or something like that. Take it back to the dealer and have them fix it.

Best of luck!!
t22a80,
Thanks for the kind reply. I guess it was my fault and naivety not to catch P-Dizzle sarcasm....I guess I fell into his trap...
At any rate, I appreciate your "serious" reply, and I like your assessment of being caused by the amplifier overheating, it kind of make sense.
One more question please: Do you think that's something that can be fixed (without exchanging the amp) or rather would they have to actually replace the entire amplifier?
My commute is 50 miles each way 5 days a week...(mostly interstate driving).
I must be loosing my hearing...I do not consider volume at level 15 as being high...maybe I am just used to listening to my radio at ~18 to about ~25. CDs are a different story though...they are louder than the radio to begin with...so 15 is much louder for the CDs than the radio...
Do you live in New Hampshire? My wife was born in Nashua.

I was just messin with ya bro. I am a stereo head and saw an opportunity. I had the so called "Rockford Fosgate" system in my 05 LE CC. It did actually sound descent when listening to cd's but I never had any issues with it. A problem with the amplifier is most likely. I would take it to the dealer and demand they replace it. It's alright if you tell them it has cut out on you more than it actually has.

P-Dizzle,
Thanks for the reply and the suggestion,
No hard feelings...It was actually funny how you got me there...I am sure a lot of people got a kick out of my "serious" reply...
