Sadly, the inside of them looks even more confusing than the outside!

Depends on what subs and how good the install is. That is only a 200 watt amp though. Box?

the direct site says the 800 watt like im getting runs for $330, the subs are diamond 10's brand new. i dont know exactly what ones they are but they look nice. the install he will be taking out the underseat storage and installing my box, the amp, and the subs. the whole setpu is going to cost about 800 even. i dont want to take the time, and i will probablyh mess up installing it so im getting it done at the shop.

A fair price on that amp is $200. I am assuming your are getting the Diamond Audio D310 subs. $200 a pair is fair. What box are you running? Your going to need about 0.75ft^3/chamber. That amp is going to need to be wired at 1ohm to have a chance of pushing those subs. You will need the dual 4 ohm subs wired mono at 1 ohm. I would recommend a more powerfull amp. That amps max RMS is 400 tops and those subs will swallow that easily.

Your getting an awesome box and a good pair of subs. If you don't supply enough power your not going to get the most out your subs or the enclosure. So yes, I would recommend more power.

alright but im still confused on one thing. this guy has been around FOREVER. why would he reccomend the 800 watt amp if it wont be enough power? he has been around for 20 years, ive seen his shop for the pas 10 years at least. im not saying you are wrong im just wondering why he would suggest such an underpowered amp...?

That amp will power those subs ok. Maybe he is just trying to be cost effective. Maybe not in this case, but just because someone has been in the industry for 20 years doesn't mean they know what they are doing. I have met many installers that were clowns. That amp is not 800 watts. It is more like 300 to 400 RMS. 600 to 800 RMS would drive those subs nicely. A lot of brands claim there max peak power to move product, but that info is useless. It is better to over power than to underpower.
