Amp to sub

I know there is another link just like this but it doesn't really answer my question. I have a 12" dual voice coil infinity 4 ohm sub, I also have a 2 ch bridgable 283 watt at 4ohm infinity amp. How do I connect the wires so I get the most out of both. I think I just plug the right + and the left - into the box terminal, but what about wiring the sub inside the box?

Re: Amp to sub

The next question to ask is, can your amp handle a 2 ohm load continuosly? If the answer is yes, then connect the subs voice coils in parallel, connect the "+" to the "+" and the "-" to the "-" of the two voice coils, then connect them to the conector in the box. If the amp cannot handle a 2 ohm load continuosly, you will need to wire the subs voice coils in series. Connect one "+" to the opposite voice coil "-", and then run your wires from the box connector to the remaining "+" and "-" of each voice coil. Hope this helps, and happy tunes!!

Re: Amp to sub

What amp do you have exactly? Mono Infinity amps look like 2ch amps. If you have a 311 or a 611 you can simply connect one voice coil to 1 channel and the other voice coil to the other channel. Or you can use just one set of connections on the amp and wire the subs parallel as batman stated.

Re: Amp to sub

I have the 2 Ch 7521a bridgable at 4 ohms. Not so worried about hooking amp to sub, mostly worried about dual voice coil. I'm waiting on my box from tech12volt. I don't want to screw up the connections inside the box.

Re: Amp to sub

Connect the (-) of the (L) terminal on the amp to the (-) of one voice coil on the sub. Connect the (+) of the (R) terminal on the amp to the (+) of the opposite voice coil on the sub. Cut a short piece of wire and connect the remaining (+) to the remaining (-) on the sub. This will give you an 8ohm load bridged. What sub do you have? This is not much power.
