Question Stereo Take Apart Guide

Is there a guide that tells you how to get your stereo out of its location or get to it so you can at least wire speakers to it? This is in a SE by the way.
Thanks
john

Pop the face plate off, undo 4 screws from brackets and pull out.

Faceplate requires more force than most would be comfortable applying to remove.

Just be careful. Having a flat/skinny prying tool can help. It's just held in with clips so you just yank it off. Yank too hard, it breaks you lose. Yank just right, it comes out without breaking, you win.

Re: Stereo Take Apart Guide

I've found the easiest way to get the trim off is to use a 4" putty knife. Hold it backwards - so the blade is facing you - and insert it between the top of the radio trim piece and the surrounding bezel. You will have to wiggle it in there, once it's in the handle will be pointing to the windshield. Placing it to one of the corners is a good idea as that is where the plugs are. Push down on the handle to aim the blade towards the back of the truck, then give it a good "pop" with your palm once. The corner will come free. Do the same for the other corner and then "pop" the bottom ones off with your hands.

Easy and doesn't leave any marks at all.
