dash kit - 2007 SE

I'm getting the run around on finding a head unit kit for my 2007 SE.

Anyhow, just got off the phone with a local "professional" shop that I've done a lot of business with... they said they have nothing listed for the 2007...and don't have any difference between the XE and SE for prior years of the Titan.

Told them to look up an Armada 2007, they said they have a kit for that but it doesn't look anything like the 2004-2006 kit for the Titan. I'm really confused, because the 06 and 07 SE LOOK the same.

I just need a single DIN unit, but wouldn't mind a double din so I can add a scangauge or soemthing else later. Also the local shop uses "Best" brand kits, which I've not heard of. What make (metra, scosche, best, someone else) should I get, what model and what harness do I need?

Do I need an antenna adaptor too?

Sorry to post this, I've seen all your great write ups on how to do it, but they weren't for a 2007 SE...and after talking to this shop, it sounds like Nissan really changed stuff for the 2007 year.

Thanks!

you def dont need a antenna adapter, but i bought a scosche and it sucked, had extra holes, but the metra is the ticket right there. i would buy a metra if i was in your position.

Re: dash kit - 2007 SE

I just installed the Metra dash kit in my 07 SE. They must have changed something from the 06 to the 07 cuz my ac knobs dont fit in the new kit. The 06 must have had a bigger control panel I guess. Only 2 screws line up with it, and they dont have a cover for the thin slit hole above the knobs. Anyone else have this problem?

Re: dash kit - 2007 SE

Yeah it really sucks. Now I dont know what to do. I have an appt on monday to get my amps installed so I can order a box from tech12, but if I cant get my deck installed, I cant install a box or amps. Im so frustrated. I wonder if any of the other brands of dash kits work with an 07? If so, I might have to go with one of them and then get a carbon fiber or wood dash kit to cover it cause a lot of ppl on here say the other brands look horrible.

Re: dash kit - 2007 SE

just have them install the amps and run the RCA cables to where the stereo WILL GO... you can probably handle plugging them in yourself.

Good luck.

There have been threads where members mod the stock piece with fiberglass and paint.

Re: dash kit - 2007 SE

shoot, sorry... also have them run the remote wires for your amps to where the head unit WILL GO, or you'll have to run cables for that too.

Re: dash kit - 2007 SE

I did car audio for a living a few yrs back, so I can do all of it, but Im just having them run the power and ground and mount the amps to an amp rack just to save me some time and trouble. But if no one makes a kit that works, its useless.
